These Stereolab reissues won't pay for themselves.
 
Had a dream I was eating meat last night. Off to a wedding later. I imagine my resolve will be tested.
 
B&M are all in quite odd locations, at least for me...they're always in retail parks or crumbling arcades. very handy for Christmas TAT I find but I have to be able to get said tat home.
 
I'm not sure we have wilko's in Glasgow at all...Google says Clydebank and Motherwell. No thanks.
 
I have 10 Wilkos within 8.67 miles of my house. Their sweetie selection isn't a patch on B&M but my easiest to get to B&M is a Superstore with a massive garden section (it used to be a Homebase) wheras my nearest Wilko used to be a pokey little Woolworths.

It really is povvy up north :D
 
I’m sure the store is lovely. The clientele on the other hand...
 
My favourite B&M is an old Tesco Extra. I think almost every retail park here has one now. Like Floppet says, it's all about the sweeties.
 
Will have pretty much entirely replaced Woolworths, haven't they? Except the lovely wall of 7" singles :(
 
I wouldn't say the store or clientele are lovely, but it's wall to wall bargains.

I think I missed Woolies for a few years, but there's enough bargain shops these to keep me going.
 
Either Home Sense or Home Bargains is a good alternative to B&M. I forget which one is which. Not the one which is sister of TK Maxx.
 
Now I LOVED Woolworths. I do get the appeal of B&M, but I have only ever went once. NEVER AGAIN.
 
I enjoy Home Bargains far less than B&M. However I'm quite partial to Savers, where I can never resist having a chuckle at the niche celebrity sprays. Like a bargain Superdrug.
 
Depending on the stores, some B&Ms are a bit headache inducing in terms of how they arrange everything. It can all feel very crammed in and piled high. And the colour scheme isn't pretty.
 
We have Poundland, Poundworld, Pound Empire, Everything £1 and a Pound Bakery. We used to have a Pound Pub and I think we still have a Pound Chippy. You're guaranteed a shop in our town centre if you're running a bookies, a charity shop or something with the word "Pound" in your name.

Most ordinary towns are the same in terms of bookies, charity shops, pound shops, barbers, vape stores and most local newspaper websites have the same complaints about them. Although a Pound Bakery and Pound Chippy :disco:.
 
TK Maxx is crap. Although I did recently find some excellent wedding trousers there.

We have a brand new one here, and it is much better than the old one. For everything other than clothes, it's genuinely a nice shop.

But for clothes, it's just the same jumble sale but in a more decent environment. I want to see the shirt I want displayed, and then just pick my size behind it, thank you.

I watched a programme the other day (for the life of me I can’t remember WHICH programme) and they were in Bolton. I thought of you straight away, and it actually looked LOVELY.

Mr F loves TK Maxx after that time he found a £180 Columbia coat for £40. I hate the place for the jumble sale reason and ours has a wobbly upstairs floor, it's just a matter of time before the whole thing comes crashing down I reckon.
 
We had a couple of pound bakeries and cafes, but neither lasted more than a year.

You know you're in a certain area when it's not even the real poundshops...they're called things like PoundShagger, PriceChib and PurseRapist because not even Poundland will move in.

We have a Poundland 5 mins from the office and I swear, if we closed they would too. And potentially vice versa...

There are some truly beautiful places in Bolton and some very posh areas too but there are also whole swathes of sink estates and not-rights. We're surrounded by gorgeous countryside and moorland and have lots of wonderful architectures and history but most people don't even realise it.

I used to live in Manchester. I am ashamed to say that I never went to any area outwith central Manchester. Bolton really isn’t that far and watching it on the tv I really thought it looked like a lovely place. I was brought up in a small rural village in Ireland, and I honestly think that the English countryside is second to none. The moors and beyond has such an amazingly beautiful enchantment to it. I would really love to buy a place in Harrogate, and retire there eventually...

Boltonian's love pies and pasties. Pound Bakery used to be Hampsons but they changed their name, they'll never go out of business in Bolton when you can get two Shortcrust Savouries or cream cakes for £1. I regularly spent a fiver on a selection of pies and pasties in winter when I was in town early and dished them out to homeless guys as I went about my shopping. The council recently implemented an aggressive begging policy in the town centre so there's no beggars allowed within a mile radius so I suppose that'll change next winter.
 
I have just went in to town and bought a chip roll with lashings of brown sauce. In this weather it’s a MUST.
