I'm only halfway through on my first listen, and whew this is beautiful. The melodies in this are just so peaceful yet yearning and a bit sad, they just surround you like a summer crush in August. Android ringtones
She is the best.

Which editions are we all going for? I'm tempted with the lime green vinyl. Ugh I'm such a sucker (Jonas Brothers remix) for that sort of thing.
 
The double video for "Fuck it I Love You!" and "The Greatest" will debut this Thursday.

No it just triggers. The work does suffer from "the Scunthorpe Problem" but a human reviews everything before you get yr knuckles rapped.

Anyway, is it true that the uncensored cover is only available mail order because that's a bit shit.

Both are pretty wonderful. The chorus of Fuck It I Love You had more impact initially but The Greatest's stately seventies rock might be the keeper.
 
The greatest is the TITS. Fuck it I love you made less impact on me but I still really like it. I think this is going to be a stellar album - even just the 6 tracks we have so far are some of her best.
 
After a few plays and time to digest, I like (don't love) both songs. I probably enjoy "FIILY" a tad more, the "Dream a little dream of me" bit is lovely and she serves some looks in the video. "The Greatest" feels familiar yet adds an unexpected warmth to her catalog.

I'm NOT loving how scattershot the campaign feels but maybe I'm just not with the times. If we were getting an 18 track Taylor Swift album maybe I would feel a bit differently after hearing 7 tracks beforehand but it does feel a little anticlimatic now that we only have 7 unheard tracks left. I suppose "Best American Record" may be transformed from the (phenomenal) demo we heard, so maybe that gives us 8 but I do miss listening to everything for the first time at once.

With that said "Venice Bitch" is still my favorite of the new songs we've already heard. Everything from the melody, trippy psychedelic folk production, ten minute length, is perfect.

Although I can’t say that I’m that enamoured with the cover and that slightly beseeching face she’s got on. Or the yellow nail varnish. Or the album title. Still, no special guests this time round to ruin the party (as far as I’m aware) :disco:
 
Oh the Billboard pictures are much more like it. Basically I don’t like anyone invading the Del Rey space, hence the objection to the cover. Why is he even there? (I suppose it could be a Norman Rockwell reference but I can’t be bothered checking.) Much too young for her! Bring back the grubby ‘Ride’ bikers!

Yes, this. Too many guests are a distraction.
 
Both songs are gorgeous but I think I prefer The Greatest for now. The music has also made me rediscover Summer Bummer, what an amazing song!

The album version of "Fuck it I Love You" is literally everything I needed , who knew stripping some of the production elements would elevate it from a 7 to a 9 , dangerously close 10. The way her voice warbles "it's killing me, slow-llyyyyyy....." into the chorus is so much more romantic. Also, the squelchy "West Coast" synths are back *dead*. Still have to listen to the rest of the album....

Finished my first listen and I am so happy with the album- it certainly exceeded my expectations. It feels like it has a lot more depth than L4L (not in a pretentious way, just more nuanced), more intimate, and every track left me wanting more, in a good way.

There isn't a track on here I dislike (even "Hope is a Dangerous Thing..." has grown on me and fits nicely closing the album). My only two slightly critical observations: 1) "Doin Time" most definitely doesn't fit although I am a fan 2) the new lyrics to "The Next Best American Record" are pretty jarring but I'm sure I'll get used to it.

I'm excited but I would be shocked if it has more depth than Lust For Life because that is her masterpiece on every level. I don't know how it could be topped.
 
Everyone seems to be raving about it, yet for the first time for me as a Lana fan, I'm not feeling quite a lot of it. Hopefully it'll be a grower though.
