Oh dear, is everyone here getting infected? I feel like if Moopy is not safe anymore. :vomit:

I saw footage of people queuing and kissing the same religious icon or something... in Russia, I believe?

Fucking HONESTLY.

it was bound to hit us too :( get well, chicks!

I am fine but who knows, maybe I've already had it, me and Mr M were in Italy just when it began to take off down there

I'm more worried about my mental state re: working from home. I HATE IT

Woke up with congestion in my head and a weird 'constricted' feeling when I take full, deep breaths. It's mild atm but I called in and been on hold with Telehealth for 2 hours.

Meanwhile 150+ people are going in to the office as usual. :manson:

I've had a dull headachy/congested/lethargic feeling all week, I don't think its corona based but who the fuck knows.

That's the thing - I'm tired of this being in our hands. Who knows what's flu, allergies, changing seasons, and good old fashioned ANXIETY over this etc?

Hope you're well xx

If that's true, it can only be because we haven't been bothering to test people.

They just aren’t testing people. It’s rife out there.

Went out to get my Mum some bits and pieces and ended up going to SEVEN FUCKING SHOPS to get what she needed.

I can't take it anymore. She's going to have to have a big shop and be done with it.

Oh, and amazingly, I wasn't allowed to buy four bottles of red wine in Tesco because of the 3 of 1 item rule (FAIR ENOUGH) but then the SILLY BITCH on the till wouldn't let me have FOUR onions or, amazingly, MORE THAN THREE LOOSE MUSHROOMS! "You should have got a pack, love". HOW, WHEN THERE'S FUCK ALL THERE?

Jesus wept...

Have we REALLY only had 66 new cases here or is that bollocks?

The ”charts” can’t be trusted anymore as they’re saying now that hundreds of thousands are already infected but show mild/ no symptoms.

Italy already with more deaths than China, which is quite shocking. I hope we are not going there...

Popped into Waitrose on the off chance they had some food, the shelves were completely clear, except for two FRAY BENTOS pies?

Common sense isn't as common as everybody makes out. Four mushrooms though?!

I got the last three and a half raw carrots from Morrisons this morning, luckily they were allowing 4 items.

All the shops I went in were mostly empty of people.

Being a vegetarian is fun though- plenty of that stuff left on the shelves!

Well, bar actual vegetables...

Exactly, I wouldn't normally bat an eyelid at something like this but suddenly there's a little voice in my head saying YOURE GOING TO DIE. I'm not though, and to be honest weed has killed that voice.

Lack of testing init.

I think/hope we've acted a bit quicker than Italy. Took them about 4 weeks to start paying attention.

Would you be staying off work with what otherwise would pass as a normal heavy cold/viral thing? This has all made me paranoid about spreading something but I’m not ticking the corona boxes though I feel pretty crap so it’s hard to know what to do. I’ve read normal cold/flu don’t need to isolate yet every time I cough or sneeze I can see the quick looks from colleagues.

The thing is different people get different symptoms. The tickboxes are what most people have, but they don't apply to everyone. If you can go home without suffering any consequences I would.

Considering whether it's even worth doing my usual 7PM Friday weekly shop. I can be pretty creative with food and I've no issue with eating gluten free, expensive or vegan food. Hmm.

My dad says he went to Tesco today and they were out of lots of stuff but the worst part was the other customers: “We were trying to stay at least a metre away from everyone but they kept arriving beside us at the shelves, and two of them who recognised each other even rushed together for a huge hug. In the gents’ loo a bloke peed and left without a glance at the hand-washing facilities. What’s wrong with these morons?!”

Isn't that what the government have quite explicitly said you should do?
The NHS site says no need to self isolate with cold/flu but how do you know what your viral strain really is? They just say to self isolate if you have persistent cough, high temperature or if your back or chest is hot to the touch.

So we’ve worked out a rota in school to take care of the key worker children, I’ll be going in two days a week because I live further away (3 trains!) as opposed to four half days. Obviously I don’t begrudge helping the most vulnerable families but there’s an anger inside me about how all of this has been dealt with, and it’s plain to see now who our society relies on. When this is over we need to remember that.

Unless the deaths shoot up over the next few days lockdown is now looking unlikely. Apparently people ARE listening. :side-eye:

Even if they are right now, you can sure as hell bet people will start creeping back outside before 12 weeks.

I don't think the direction of travel will change. Boris is just putting off the inevitable. The death toll WILL INCREASE. Again inevitable. That 40 people a day are dying would have been remarkable a couple of weeks ago. Its amazing how quickly we are normalised to these things.

I still find the numbers shocking, and they are going up daily. What I would like to know is Boris said if his current measures aren’t working then he will need to bring in more stringent ones. How on this good earth will he know if it is working or not? The figures are only going to be going UP UP UP.
