This coronavirus from a very selfish perspective has come about a month into seeing someone new which has been going well and obviously is gonna be at its horniest stage. We are adhering to government advice but it’s pretty tough.
 
At work we’re a team of about 200 and are now mostly all working from home for those who can.

Senior management have just created an anonymous tracker for concerns and questions so they can be collated and answered together. Mostly they should be to do with logistics of how we’re going to be working involving tasks and our outside contracted companies etc. Yet the first question someone asked was about their own increased electricity bills as a result of being home all day :manson:

On my balcony it was T-shirt weather at the weekend because it’s in direct sunlight. Even though it was technically only 11 degrees.
 
To be fair I haven't really been in my (south facing) garden in the last week.

Figures. Sounds exactly like some meeting I've been at in my time.

Last month, we had an all-in with the senior manager of our department and someone asked exactly why she wasn't allowed to sit and listen to music at her desk. "Erm, because you're customer facing? You have calls coming in?" came the bewildered response. "Yeah but..." the colleague began before someone helpfully butted in with something a bit more useful.
 
So I've been trying to do some shopping online in 4 different supermarkets, but some of them are not delivering food now, and the rest are collapsed and can't even order food for next week, or anytime. :square: How are we going to stay safe at home if we can't even buy food?
Thank god I have the larder full of essentials, and I can make bread and some stuff, but I need fruit and vegetables. I don't know what to do, I don't wanna go out, and my parents will have a heart attack if I do so.
 
I went to Aldi earlier and it was fine. Empty. Bread, pasta etc. Bit light on tins, no painkillers or eggs, but that was ok.
 
Wow 18 dead the last 24h only here in Stockholm. Maybe this libertarian non-lockdown approach isn’t working after all...

Wow, who saw THAT coming (answer -everyone).

My sister's partner does a lot of work internationally, including with Chinese companies so he's been well ahead of developments and they've been taking all due precautions for months i.e. avoiding the pubs, social distancing etc. She lives up in Umea.

I am the latter anyway but I agree the former is me all over. Never baked bread once. But for me, it’s more about finding something fun to DO!
 
today was def warm enough to sit outside @Ag

the sheer number of people on the streets is still pissing me off. i had to go to the bank for work purposes (i'm also a key worker :disco:/:manson:) and the roads are teeming with joggers, cyclists, old folk, parents and kids riding tricycles. how are you supposed to practice social distancing from that?!

I agree with you but people are respecting the rules from what I’ve seen. You can’t expect them to do anything more than that really.

I’ve managed to buy yeast from a couple of Polish food stores near me. They were fully stocked with everything. The panic buying seems to have been concentrated on supermarkets like Sainsbury’s.

As ridiculous as this may sound, I did wonder if a) they’d have it, b) if they’d know what it was if I had to ask :D :(
 
(And this was a fleeting thought in the car on my way home...it wasn’t LONG THOUGHT THROUGH)
