the 1 is so good I could cry. Definitely headed for my all-time Tay-Tay top 10.
 
Still shaking and crying at “seven”. “Cardigan” and “August” are very good too. The rest needs to grow but I have a feeling it will be worth the wait.
 
this album becomes considerably more incredible with every play. it's growing so fast. peace is my big takeaway from today. A TEN. I've also performed a Suedey u-turn on Exile.

also the lyric "in my defense, I have none" is so good.



Including 450k pure sales. The figure might grow if streaming holds up well all week (Lover opened with 867k). She must be looking at 45-55k in the UK as well.

In typical fashion, if not a full 180, I've certainly done a...160 perhaps? Really enjoying it since playing it this morning. Still feels a little overlong and does veer a tad too much into blandness, but it's definitely CAST ITS SPELL over me today.

Cardigan I’m not as sure about. It feels like she is imitating Lana Del Rey with her vocal on this one.

I wonder if that stat will be the case if Adele drops her album this year. But still very impressive considering the lack of build.

well, half of the US is back into some kind of lockdown? :D the casuals won't be swiping as many copies from supermarket shelves right now hun even if this was available there.

I guess all of the physicals right now are the CDs and vinyl bundles from her website
 
Just listened to it for the first time. I found it utterly compelling and beguiling pretty much from start to finish. Perhaps it's my hormones, but I shed a tear three individual times at the loveliness of it all, and didn't want it to end. That alone is quite something for an album of 16 tracks which is over an hour long.

After my first listen today that was the one I went right back to.

This is definitely an easier listen than the last two albums, even if my attention started to wander a little by the last quarter.
