Sign up now for A Song For Moopy: Iguana edition!

Just select 'Yes' in the poll to sign up. You have until 6pm on Monday 24 August to sign up.

The main rules are:
  • You will be able to enter any song as long as it is on both YouTube and Spotify. I do however strongly encourage you to enter something that most other posters are unlikely to have heard because that's just more fun.
  • You can send me your entry from 6pm on Monday 24 August. I'll need to receive your entry by 6pm on Tuesday 1 September.
  • Whether we have semi-finals will depend on the number of entries.
For those who LOVE detail, I've spoilered some further details which you don't really need to know now and which I'll repeat later when more relevant.

  • I will accept entries by PM from 6pm on Monday 24 August. You will need to specify the name of your song and artist and provide Spotify and YouTube links. You may also specify which country (or region, planet, whatever) you want your entry to represent. The country doesn't need to be linked to the song/artist. If someone else has already chosen the country you want, I will select a different country for your entry and let you know.
  • There will be a penalty for not voting in any round in which your song is competing.
  • I won't be entering a song or voting. Actually screw it, I might do. I'll see how I feel
  • PLEASE don't tell anyone what your country, song or artist is until I say you can, even if you really really really want to.

There's something I have forgotten to enter in two contests in a row now, but this might be the time :o
 
I know you said it depends on how many entries and this is your game but the semi finals really don’t work, half of the posters lose interest cause either their song isn’t in that semi or they get chucked out of the semis and don’t participate in the final

This will be taken into FULL consideration! I'm just leaving my options open for now but my preference is no semis :ken:

I think they add an element of peril to the game that is welcome. I think it worked well with Soldi’s one, which is the only incarnation of the game with semi finals that we have to compare it to.

Perhaps splitting the final song reveal over TWO NIGHTS could work if there’s thirty odd entries - @Iguana?

(obviously it’s your contest bbz do what u want)
 
As someone who got chucked out of the first semi final for soldi, it was kind of hard to keep interest in it after that point

kalavision less so because I was in the second semi but it still killed my buzz a bit

I'm expecting less entries than the previous incantations given it's end of summer and we're not in the same kind of lockdown but yeah I've got some ideas and I'll just see what the numbers look like

as someone who got chucked out of the semi final every fucking time, I concur.

I mean Kalavision didn’t have a final so I choose to have come 11th in Kalavision Side B :)
 
I put 32(?) songs in ASFM with no semi. I think we all survived. And it made for a better final.
