Well okay, but it really wasn't anymore complicated for me than how I've explained it.
 
I guess the poll needs more than one answer and it’s a tracker as much as anything.

but why does someone ALWAYS come in just so they can say no?

As I say, this is all happening before I've actually formalised the rules but I've no qualms with it not being on Spotify as long as you accept the inherent risks to that.

I'm not going to submit something that isn't on Spotify, which is why I'm so annoyed that my two ideas are not.
 
Not sure if this has been covered elsewhere but is there a language rule, @ButterTart ie do the songs have to be performed in the same language as the original version?
 
I don't know whether to go full on hot mess or something slightly different.

My three options though are all looking 29th with a bullet :(

I don't know whether to go for a cover version of a REALLY well known song, or a cover of an unknown song.

I’d just like a bit of steer on whether people tend to go for obscure or for best, because this covers thing has thrown me a bit. I don’t wanna go obscure and everyone is throwing out stuff like Kylie does ABBA. Or the flip reverse of that. If I’m going to bother I’d like to be in with a shout
 
Definitely stay away from the very well-known stuff I would say.

edit: well-known covers that is. as below, the covered song should be fairly familiar to everyone

On a personal level, I’d like to see less familiar versions of well known songs. This isn’t a rule, just what I envisaged going into this. Of the ones sent in so far, I will say that people haven’t been shy about tackling the classics.
 
I’m thinking the covered song can be well known but the cover itself not otherwise what’s the point?

There is one on Spotify that I genuinely love but it will score absolutely no points AT ALL.
