Admin & Moderator Elections 2020

I still don't think it matters if a person has made 2000 posts in a week or 10 so long as they're sorting some stuff when they need to be. If anything, being a frequent poster would potentially make them a bit more affected as they won't be as wrapped in the emotions of the latest argument on whether Kylie looks bloated or why RS didn't give Northern Rhodesia any points in ASFM. Objectivity is important.

As much fun as it is to watch people debate.

It is very true that we generally don’t have a clue who does what. Wendy does not post very much at all these days, but I don’t know if she is editing/merging without taking credit for it. Time to start blowing your own trumpets girls. WHO DOES WHAT?
 
I don't think any one mod does the bulk of the work, we all pick up bits from time to time. Maybe there's an admin log @Indie can access perhaps.

It's true that Moopy is a bit different - fundamentally (as I regularly say) Moopy is a community where the admin and moderators are public servants for the majority of the time, rather than the police. The odd bit of policing is required but that generally shouldn't be disruptive.

But, other points of view are encouraged. I've not seen anything from your stint has moderator that makes me think you've done anything wrong - sure, sometimes people may have disagreed with your approach but that's the often difficult line you have to walk. I'll never criticise anyone for making a decision based on their best endeavours of judgement in the spur of the moment.

There is. Trouble is, it can be misleading. I had a quick glance yesterday and one poster had a bunch of entries relating to editing and re-editing someone else's post (not in a malicious way).
 
We have had posters who have wanted to be mods/admins in the past and then seemed to drift from Moopy so it would just be nice to know a little about who is doing little to bugger all, and who is still doing their fair share.

That would have been me trying to sort @ButterTart's poll out for 'im, I assume.
 
I think with the mod work it comes down to who sees it first. In a lot of threads I’m already posting in I’ll get @ed to pin or move content, but there are times when someone will have asked for a mod to do something and it’s already sorted before I even read the post.

I agree. I will share something when we go into the moderator elections, rather than before candidates are announced, though.
 
So this escalated. Who is now standing, so I can give them a thorough grilling?

Yeah I think it's time for me to step down. :( I've been admin/mod for years (12ish I think?) But i think it's time for someone new with the enthusiasm to drive Moopy on.
I am here more then it seems, my phone keeps logging me out so unless there's something I want to reply to, I can't be arsed with logging in.

Indie and Octy are a brilliant, balanced admin team who I fully endorse.
