Can’t say I’ve noticed Tom Cruise’s arse much. Did he have a bare arse shot in Far and Away? Even in the 80s he was never one for tight trousers.

How are vets operating, @Rachey?

Our cats are overdue their 6 monthly health check now. We pay a monthly cost for it, so I assume they are still doing 'routine' things like that.

Normally both of us go into the consulting room with all three of them. I'm assuming it will probably be handing the cats in at the door and then having it done without either of us there now though, and then collecting them after.
 
Just been to Lidl. Had to queue for the first time since peak lockdown.
 
My cats have their yearly vaccination on Wednesday. I have no idea how it works. They were doing a system where you left them outside and waited in your car then paid at a sort of kiosk window but that was more at the very height of lockdown when they only did emergency appointments. I will report back.

I know I'm not Rachey but Ridley had a surprise appointment three weeks ago and his six-month check on Friday. We go to the carpark, ring the surgery and tell them we're here, a nurse comes out and takes the Ridley inside and I stay on the carpark. The vet then rings my mobile if he needs to go through anything, which he did on the surprise appointment but didn't need to on the check-up. Then the nurse brings the pet back out when they're done. Masks are mandatory when the nurse comes over otherwise they won't take the pet.
When I pick up his Tramadol prescription every month it's the same except I ring, the nurse brings out the medication and puts it in a box in the middle of the carpark then withdraws back to the door and waits till I pick up the medication from the box before waving and going back in. It's like an illicit drugs drop in public.
Have you had a look on the vet's website? Ours has all of the new operating procedures on the homepage and explains in great depth what to do.

Vote Macron to stop Le Pen, we were told in 2017. But frankly with some of his immigration policies and ministers using far-right rhetoric we're really not that far off having a Front National president.

My train has been delayed (albeit only by eight minutes) due to VANDALISM on the RAILWAY.
 
Depsite getting fucked last night and not going bed until 2 I've been up and out on the bike with Ron Jr, he's only really just started riding a bike despite learning in Ibiza, he's just never picked it up in the UK until a weekend or two ago. So being me I took him to a BMX pump track and scared the shit out of him hitting berms and jumps, but to give him his credit despite being out of his depth and bailing a few times, he carried on with it and now appears to have the bug and just wants to ride everywhere now. The boy has some determination.
 
Had a roast at the pub sat out in the autumnal sun and I feel very #blessesd, at the risk of being all hippy I am very grateful to the universe for my life. God knows I've been trough some shit to get here.

I can't say for all vets, but most of the island ones are doing routines like vaccinations, but there is quite a delay (up to 3 months).

Once you get to the appt you are asked to wait outside. A vet comes out, collects the pet and asks if you have any concerns. They then take them in, do their thing and bring them back. You're not allowed in the building.

Although we currently aren't doing the 6 month health check so I'd check to see if yours are.

After being asked to do a set for an online festival, I was approached and asked if I'd like to "present" one of the days. I'm working so I said it would have to be taped. I've just finished taping it. I've either aced it or embarrassed myself and I do not know which. :D
 
Glasses wearers...how are you stopping yours from steaming up with a mask? We've now been told we have to wear a mask and visor throughout our shift. We have surgical masks. And it doesnt matter what I do, my glasses steam up.

I've tried anti fog spray.
Washing up liquid.
Putting the glasses over the mask.

Etc etc

I saw the festival stuff on the twitter - sure you’ve nailed it. I sometimes wish I was one of those people with no awareness so I could just get on with thinking I was amazing regardless.

I've found that if I pull the mask right up to the bridge of my nose so it's almost touching the bottom of my eyes then properly squidge the metal part of the mask across the bridge of my nose then smooth it flat on either side of the nose it works fine as long as I don't mouthbreathe. My fabric masks are a different story, it takes a good few minutes of fiddling and I can't always stop them steaming up completely.

Ooh does mouth breathing make a difference?
 
So went to my Dad’s allotment today for the first time since I was forced as a child, as he’s been so worried about his potatoes, which needed digging. Have done the harvest, also tomatoes, beetroot, runner beans, pears and apples.

The allotment itself is a state- surrounded by gorgeous ones, he’s obviously not been able to maintain it properly the last few years, which is sad. I’ve got this plan to go all Charlie Dimmock and get it all sorted mega quick into something lovely so he can go and sit there and see it’s all well taken care of before he dies. Fuck knows how, but we’ll see. I’m kinda excited about having an allotment. God I’m old :D

You have been breathing properly. I tend to breathe in through my nose and out through my mouth. I have to make a concerted effort to just breathe in and out through my nose. The asthma nurse told me it's a similar thing to circular breathing and that a lot of smokers do it unconsciously.
