Oh I imagine she'll have handled it like a pro.

"Well with the whole COVID situation, we weren't able to get together in a studio this time around, but fingers crossed for the next album." *hopeful smile*

Does she claim she was in the same studio complex when SIA wrote it?

No, she'd make sure to accentuate the "fact" that SIA wrote it FOR them, that SIA's a big Steps fan and just gloss over the details over where it was written and whether she was there.

The synthesised textures and thuds of To The One is a fix I didn't think Steps could supply, it's so aloof, cool and detached - so much so Lee can get away with it too. It builds and builds without you realizing it. My new favourite.

Don't You Leave Us Halfway is exquisitely understated. Still, right now I'm preferring to be ravished by What The Future Holds, Something In My Ass, To The Beat of My Heart and To The One. The rest was fine. No major notables on first snippet listens: Claire's keep your head in the fridge/Clouds a fine album track; fair to middling Father's Eyes is an absent one; One Touch is more of a restraining order and seems to feed off Scared of the Dark, with touches of Alcazar where it needs a grope; Heartbreak does kickstart a fleeting hot flush of their vintage energy, with Lisa and H serving a delicious verse; Come and Dance With Me sounds like it could have been the b-side to Summer of Love and Lee sounds about as in the moment as someone shaking their protein shake; and the Gary Barlow moment at the end is just padding. So about 5 new gay dimensions and decent filler. Good enough job Steps.

Looks like the battle is in full swing. New digital formats ('night in' and 'night out' editions) now available, a new batch of signed CDs and now signed vinyls on the website.

Gary has slashed his price across many formats as well.

They got me gal! Signed vinyl ordered.

They probably don't care that much about Ireland but STILL

Just realised I've actually DEPRIVED them of a UK sale

1 Gary Barlow - Music Played by Humans (28.6k) *
2 Steps - What the Future Holds (24.4k) *
3 Michael Ball & Alfie Boe - Together at Christmas (13.4k)
4 Miley Cyrus - Plastic Hearts (8.3k) *
5 AC/DC - Power Up (6.1k)

Shame, looks like they will miss out. Still, they should hold #2 comfortable, and especially with a bunch of new formats they could top 30k which really is better than I imagined the best case scenario.

They're doing so well! I really expected them to be far below Miley. How frustrating for them to be #2 again but it's still VERY GOOD

Barlow can do one

but very pleased for the healthy sales

Those Night In and Night Out digital editions... so it turns out that there was actually a stone left unturned in the attempt to milk Kylie loons dry with Disco. At least they are offering up a good amount of additional content.

Father's Eyes (Shanghai Surprize Edit) - where did they dig them up from?

As if there weren’t already enough reasons to loathe Gary Barlow in what is rightfully STEPS SEMAINE, what the fuck is that truly terrible album title? STRING HIM UP!

1 Gary Barlow - Music Played by Humans (37.3k) *
2 Steps - What the Future Holds (30.6k) *
3 Michael Ball & Alfie Boe - Together at Christmas (26.4k)
4 Miley Cyrus - Plastic Hearts (11.7k) *
5 AC/DC - Power Up (9.8k)

Looks like it's pretty much a done deal. Well, except for Michael Ball and Alfie Boe who are selling more than 6k a day and look like they may well grab #2 at this pace.

However, Steps are still selling 3k or so a day, so with two days left they should top 35k which is great. Even if it is #3 that's fine, either one doesn't matter.

Well I've decided I'm immensely proud of Snow White who IS the dwarf Lisa for getting the best solo song she never recorded, To The Beat of My Heart, on this 50% exceptional, 50% very serviceable album.

Just bought it off their store. I went for the CD and digital bundle of the tops on tits out editions. Are any of the remixes any good? Now, if any of those super extra deluxe bundles had an option for a Lisa only t-shirt I may have just went for it seeing as I've spent a fortune on gift wrap today.

As if Barlow wasn't bad enough but bloody Ball & Boe as well.

I'm not doubling up on the CD with vinyl, but I will give their digital editions a go. They better not put it all up on Spotify next week mind...

Apparently

GB 41,9K
Steps 35,1K
B&B 30,6K

:disco: 4,500 yesterday (I believe the signed CDs or something were shipping yesterday). Will be close to whether they can hold off #3 but now looking like it should pass the last album opening :disco:

Obviously my feelings regarding Gary Barlow (especially in this instance) are already documented but God I can’t stand BALL AND BOE

IF THEY EVEN DARE

:enya:

I was starting to worry about B&B but it looks like the signed vinyls did the trick

Cannot believe I've paid 4 times as much as HMV. I hope Losa Scott Lee's card gets declined thinking she's good to splurge on the Emirates duty free.

It's been dispatched and now I see it's signed. Great, permanent market H and bits of Claire's spag bog. Was there an opt out option I missed?
