I swear if our joke of a government keeps this rate, I'll be breaking into our stocks and start jabbing every old bugger in this country myself :evil:

I believe we're getting close to 10,000 vaccinations which is about half the population. YAY
 
At this point I don't see the sense in the mainland not being treated as one entity. Surely it's too porous, especially with this new strain
 
In America news a 41 year old Republican congressman-elect has died of COVID, no public statement of condolence from Trump as of yet.
 
We're likely going to stay in lockdown well beyond January 10th and regularly school attendance in January seems "extremely unlikely".

GOOD. We had 22,000 cases today but I expect the backlog of Christmas and NYE/NYD to transpire in the first week of January. Badly.

You shouldn't be surprised. It has some of the lowest rates in the country. If you're going to have a tier system, then at least it currently matches up to cases quite well.
 
Tier 4 for us islanders. Our rate has increased by 300% !

I feel like this won't end for a long time.

But it's ok, because we can all still go to work :square:
 
I’ve only been tracking my parents area but cases seem stable/dropping slightly here (West Yorkshire) although as we’ve seen over the past month people just travel into the lower tiers and raise the level locally. I think at the very least restrictions should apply regionally, if not nationally to avoid this.
 
Technically tier 4 although we have Sheffield addresses/postcodes here so :eyes:
 
Manchester city centre still around 200 cases per 100,000 but into Tier 4 it goes. I'm aware that it's largely down to all the pestilential outer suburbs, but it's still quite irritating.

So they don't seem to be increasing the restrictions within areas already under tier 4 yet then. I'm sure with our major incident in Essex we'll be near the front of the line if and when the special bonus level is unveiled.

It's exploding in central Essex right now. I expect that to catch up here soon, with the amount of people I saw in the town before Christmas looking on maps and for directions, spreading their dirty Chelmsford and Braintree germs.

What else CAN THEY DO? Except shut the schools, and it looks like they might not be opening ANYWAY.

SHIT REALLY HAS HIT THE FAN, nothing seems to be working anymore.
 
I think I'd rather be in 4 than 3. From a personal level I can cope with non essential retail being shut, and it will mean far less people around when I have to commute to and from work every day.
 
Shutting the schools should be a worst case scenario, in my opinion. This has to all be SO BAD for kid's social development. It probably has hit that point in many places though
