He won Swedish Idol and seems to be quite BELOVED by the Swedish public. I don't know much about him, but assuming he must have an interesting story/amazing PERSONALITY.

That said, similar circumstances didn't hand Jon Henrik Fjällgren the win any of the times he competed despite being the favourite.
