Thursday prays for the ironing fairies

When it's too hot or am just bored I just fold the clothes nicely and put them under the mattress leaving it's weight pressure do the job for me. Sadly it doesn't work for all types of clothing.

I’ve got at least a dozen people waiting for me to ‘just give them a quick call when I’ve got a minute’. Why are people so averse to just sending a fucking e-mail? They’ve already sent one to ask me to ring them, so I know they’re capable of it.

I've been procrastinating about doing the ironing all week, if I leave it long enough it automatically gets done right?
I haven’t ironed since March 2020. Can’t wait to start again in August :)

Happy birthday @COB.

Re. the raging ironing debate I follow Jiva’s approach of ironing the item just before I go out in it if it needs ironed as I hate it or I’ll strategically produce the ironing board when a certain one of my friends is over for pre-drinks and pretend to start doing it knowing they’ll offer to take over. I throw my shirts into a local shop where they do this kind of thing, I’d much rather pay than spend the time doing it myself.

That approach worked every time for Mr F, it's his go-to housework stance. Sadly it's never worked for me, if I don't do it nobody does.

Every time I iron, I spend a lot of time for it to look pretty much exactly the same. So I rarely do it now

I don't normally iron I have to say, I'm just getting rid of some of the kids clothes!

Happy bday COB!

Yes I hate ironing one side and thinking it's perfect only to fly the shirt over and find that the other side is destroyed with wrinkles.

But I've just learned that apparently you're not supposed to button the shirt first? That might explain it.

The best bit about working in my current school is semi casual non-iron essential clothes.

But it's so frustrating because nothing beats a linen shirt, yet they're the hardest things to iron and the most prone to wrinkles! Life is hard.
That’s why it’s best to only wear pure polyester

I just hang my linen shirts up wet and wear them as is, they’re gonna get wrinkled ANYWAY so I just roll with it.
