Obvious things that took you ages to realise!

Also, last year I found out that BLUE bananas exist in South East Asia and apparently they taste like vanilla ice cream

this isn't an obvious thing, but I just wanted to share :(
Supposedly if you freeze ordinary BANAS, they taste like ice-cream and are a healthier option when you are watching your waistline and there’s no Nestlé Tip Top in the cupboard.

On the subject of pronunciations, the word ‘mandatory’ is used a lot at work. I pronounce it ‘man-dat-ore-y’ but there are a load of people who say ‘mnDATEurry’. Have I been wrong this entire time?

You say it the same as me so you’re probably wrong

Just as the rat/mouse thing, I used to think that goats were female sheep.

Soon someone is going to say that ladybugs can be male too.

When nanas are a bit brown on the outside I slice them and freeze the slices, I also quarter and freeze strawberries when they start going squishy. After a couple of hours I chuck a load in the blender with some milk and abracadabra, strawberry and banana milkshake!

I know a few people who say 'man-da-tray'

Piano Man by Billy Joel is not the same song as the one that goes, "I am the piano man, I come from far away and I can play ..... (what can you play?) .... I can play the piano. Pi-a-pi-a-pi-a-no..." etc

I found that out the hard way one time I went to perform it at karaoke.

It would have been nice if someone had pointed out to me at the time that the song I was thinking of was called MUSIC MAN.

Disclaimer - I'm shit with lyrics at the best of times, but it took me way too long to realise the lyrics in How Soon Is Now were not referring to the sun & the air :D

I did too! Because of it being used as the theme music for Charmed, I assumed it was referencing a couple of the four elements. :bruised:

You're not alone - so did the Smiths' regular sound engineer Grant Showbiz and producer John Porter!
