However, I still get goosebumps every time I read the thank you credits on the 'Diamonds And Pearls' album.

I can't explain it at all, because even though 'Love Story' on Madonna's 'Like A Prayer' album was essentially a Prince track sonically, it worked for me, whereas 'Why Should I Love You' didn't. I know I'm late (well not really late but late in posting) but this really is the most WONDERFUL and somehow MIND-BOGGLING news of the year :disco: God it's so fucking CORRECT as well.

I still don't really get it though :D The Stranger Things moment is beautiful and memorable TV (and very happy the Max character got that moment, she's probably the strongest one they have and I still think they don't see that) but I really didn't think after 6 years Stranger Things was quite the hype machine it was on its debut. I know it's still big and I love it regardless but this still feels like a massive surprise. I guess it really is as huge as it ever was, probably bigger then...

But it doesn't matter. The fact Kate and RUTH did this and effectively "broke the charts", it should be enough to solve all world problems.

The closest thing to a big viral moment from Stranger Things series three was Neverending Story by Limahl, and that didn't even re-enter the top 100. So I'm inclined to think it's more the case that RUTH was generally ripe for rediscovery and this was just a very effective medium for that.

On the other hand, it's also a very powerful scene that it's featured in, and the obvious parallels about using music as a coping mechanism against despair and depression has clearly resonated with a lot of people.
 
Oh I agree that moment was touching and relatable on numerous levels, I just didn't think it was possible to beat the charts in this day and age in such a way. Especially a show on its 4th season. I think the longer break has really helped it build interest instead of doing the opposite which is lovely to see.

I hope someone dies saving everyone else in Season 5, running into a garden as "Under The Ivy" plays and that becomes the smash of whatever year Stranger Things 5 comes out
 
I'm not going to quibble over that. Three weeks in the top ten Stateside is still a significant achievement for her.

It is actively being promoted at US pop radio (and climbing fast), and there's still the Stranger Things finale to re-generate interest. I wouldn't be surprised if it re-peaks in two weeks.
 
The trailer for the remaining Stranger Things episodes suggests there’s more Kate Bush. Unless Netflix are LYING for the purposes of selling :evil:

I read that Kate does feature again, and it’s a different song, in an interview with one of the Duffers.
 
No questions about whether she'd been working on anything musical :( Lovely interview though!
 
It had a whiff of "Kate will only do this interview if you focus on Stranger Things / RUTH and not about other plans / anything else" to it, because otherwise WHY WOULDN'T YOU ASK ABOUT NEW MUSIC?

Like COB I was happy there was nothing TERF-baiting at least. Though I keep the faith Kate would fall on the right side of history there.
