I've been listening to the News Agents podcast (Maitlis, Sopel and Goodall) recently (would recommend) and they have an interesting episode tonight about Tory policy making. Very shady. Non shock.

I’ve touched on this on another thread about reality tv but do we think that because Liz is a woman she gets a rougher ride than if she was a man?

Sure she’s fucked stuff up but to be fair she’s inherited the country in probably it’s worse state it has ever been in so it was on a downward trajectory anyway. Plus she’s only been in the post a few weeks and with the Queen dying and now conference season she hasn’t actually had much time to do anything.

I’m not excusing her by any means but I do think Boris had a much easier ride than her, or Theresa for that matter.

I'd say this is down to her actions but if there IS a difference in the reception to her compared to her predecessor, I think it's less about her gender and more about Johnson having had his special 'Boris armour' that stopped him getting a hard time in the press.

I’m not defending anything she has done in the slightest. What I’m saying is that I think the fact she is a woman makes her an easier target for a lot of people.

Theresa May was shite too but Boris was worse but he got a far easier ride than she did.
 
I’m sure she’s getting a tougher time than a similarly evil and incompetent male would, but given that she IS evil and incompetent, it’s quite hard to care.

If anything that’s a reason to hate Boris even more. But not one to be sympathetic towards Truss. She remains an evil right-wing cunt, before even being a woman.
