I was reading some of those comments this morning on Daniel Radcliffe. They’re so UNHINGED! Criticising his acting abilities and saying (inaccurately) that he’s been a failure since he left “Rowling’s films”, all because he had an opinion they don’t agree with.

They really think that they’re fighting the good fight and are so doubled down on it. Quite horrible.

That lot are everywhere on Twitter lately. I know it's not quite the same thing but I have friends who've had to close or limit their accounts because they just happened to be following someone accused of being a pedo (often it's some controversial art they like or something) and one of them has collared them over it and said they must unfollow the accused and they've not been cowed into it. So they get targeted too, and then their friends get contacted and told "hey did you know soandso is a pedo / apologist) and a lot of them then turn on their friend. Seen people getting suicidal over it. It's rotten witch hunting (and it's not going to get any better with Musk in charge either considering his response to someone being better than him at rescuing some children from an underwater cave is to call him "pedo guy")

Didn't she also go by JK Rowling so people couldn't tell she was a woman when she published the first book? For such a FEMINIST she uses GENDERED ASSUMPTIONS to her advantage very well :eyes:
 
The hardcore feminist bit would be an easier sell if there were virtuous woman characters in Harry Potter not either mothers, destined to become mothers, or otherwise engaged in a form of teaching/care work involving children. Not being matronly in some fashion is a one-way ticket to becoming a crazed, corrupt harridan in her mythos. She is aggressively trad.
 
I haven't read the Harry Potter books but I was dragged to see the second Fantastic Beasts film which she scripted on her own and the female characters were all PATHETIC CLICHÉS.

I’m getting angrier the more of his Wikipedia page I read. He wanted to get penis reduction surgery because Korean men have smaller nobs?!

I would wonder if he was a sleeper agent for the right, trivialising gender dysphoria and confirmation surgery, but a sleeper agent is at least subtle

I think this was before his trans-voyage, he wanted to look like someone from BTS (whose nob he probably don’t know the size of), but then he wanted to look like a member of Blackpink too (a girl group)

Does it make me sound particularly crazy/conspiracy-brained if I say I DO fully believe that? We know that plenty of right-wing influencers have dark money behind them, and I can absolutely see someone with deep pockets and a particular agenda looking at a case like the Rachel Dolezal one and thinking "right, we need our own version of that but with absolutely no ambiguity or nuance".
 
Helena isn't agreeing with them, but I do get what she is trying to say, even though I do not agree with her.

However, I do think that some of the language used in the abuse towards JOANNE has been pretty heinous. She is a fucking CUNT but making death threats towards her (by a VERY small proportion) isn't helping, And I know that these people are also receiving torrential abuse at their end but they should not lower themselves to that level, as it just gives the TERFs ammunition.

Yeah it’s very much like Mindy Kahling who liked one of JK’s tweets and got ran over the coals for it but probably didn’t realise the whole story.
 
Surely this has been going on so long that that isn't much of a cover now, if it ever was one at all!
 
I do think that if you're not very engaged with it, it's quite easy to think she's the hard done by victim in all this. The British press haven't been particularly even-handed on the issue.

Yes, on a certain level this seems unfathomable. But I do think it's true.
