Sugababes™

I'm perplexed by the "vibing" section but I'm glad they haven't done medleys of their songs (hits or deep cuts) for the tour. Either perform the song or don't, teasing is lame.

"Love Me Hard" is a thing of sultry beauty but none of the live performances have hit, for me. Maybe I'm too used to the in-ear experience.

"Flowers" really goes down a storm. What other one-hit wonder songs from that era would suit them in a live context?

The best I've heard Mutya sound this time round was Leeds. Much clearer tone.

😍😍😍

Lady Scrub, I kept telling mopsy girls in Manchester about that Cameron McVey vid about mixing a Sugababes record. Do we know anymore about this?
It was oddly specific wasn’t it? “I’m about to mix the new Sugababes record”

HOWEVER it was supposedly debunked shortly afterwards on popjustice. Can’t remember the details but for whatever reason it seemed not to be the case

I’d forgotten about it actually, and am choosing to think someone was just trying to cover up the TRUTH until the time comes

(🤡)

Mutya denied it. And their team have as well, apparently.

I believe Cameron McVey.

Yeah my fairly well-placed source says there's no new music, or any plans for the above. Pity.

Wellllllll I mean there IS new music and they've been performing it. Not recording any NEW new stuff is ok when they have their best material already in the can and READY TO GO 🥳

Of course it is - to 99.98% of the population.

Why would they go to the trouble and expense of making new music when they have plenty of excellent material already recorded? Come on now.

Well yes if you're a Sugababes fan who is primarily excited on behalf of the general public getting to hear these gems then excellent!

I was assuming most fans would be excited for finally getting to hear genuinely new stuff themselves. They were the primary target of my party-pooping.

Well, we've only heard demos and live performances of these songs. The best of the MKS material being released would be preferable to a brand new album for me.

That can come in a year or two, or whenever, or not at all.

The interest in the group is clear from everything that's happened this year so if a new album never materialises, I can only assume it's because that was their choice, and I think I could accept that.

I saw them in Glasgow last night, they were fantastic but MY GOD the crowd was absolutely feral. I'm starting to wonder if I'm just too old for gigs, or maybe just wasn't quite in the mood on a Monday night :D

Last night was the end of the tour, also. I wonder if anything will get announced soon imminently?

I felt the same about Leeds. It's a horrible experience in that sense but THE GIRLS made it worth it of course

What a TRIUMPH this tour has been though

Keisha claims they have a "very packed diary coming up" :eyes:

I think I have finally accepted I am pretty much done with gigs these days, with a few exceptions. I just can't be ARSED anymore. There's been quite a few recent gigs I did think about but the thought of having to go on my own and mix with drunk strangers invading my personal space is enough to make me forget that idea quickly. I definitely don't think I'd go to a standing gig again in any hurry.

Even Abba Voyage was awful the last time I went. I'd forgotten how awful some groups of women my age could be. Must remember to wear something with spikes next time.

That seems ambitious, if only because they've only just toured quite a bit and haven't put out anything musically.

I think I might be a bit SUGABABED OUT but probably won't be by September so depending on the price I think I'll bite

But if there's STILL no new music by then... 🥴
