Kylie - Padam Padam (1st single, May 18th)

PADAM PADAM scores Kylie her BIGGEST OPENING EVER on Spotify with 430,354 streams in its first 24 hours on the platform.

Is it in the spotify charts or is that a stretch?

That’s pretty solid for her. She’s decently placed on New Music Friday as well, so may hold well.

Also reflects how relatively international she is - she didn’t make the UK top 200 which cuts off somewhere around 55k, so on that basis a solid 85-90% is from outside the UK which seems(?) impressive for someone that isn’t huge in the States.

I’m going to assume around #95. Which actually isn’t a disaster, charting at all is a plus.

If Say Something can enter the charts at number diddly-doo (whatever it was), then this will surely do a lot better based on those numbers.

I think that was from CD singles though a few months after release? That and Magic the same week?

Magic entered at 75 in its first week. Padam will do a lot better than both of those especially as the video was released on the same day as the single.

Quite interesting looking at her peaks. I had no idea 'Higher' made top 10 and thought Timebomb made top 20!

Dancing made 38 - Top 40 smash!

Say Something was 82 in its first week. It got to 56 when the CD single was released.

You are right doll, so she has a chance. But it’s sales from Thursday (around 1,300) won’t count towards this weeks chart which is probably her biggest day. So I think that’ll mean she’ll be closer to #100 than #40 given how close sales are in that region :(

Say Something was released on a Wednesday, IIRC. That gives Padam an even better chance.

who has been tinkering with her Wiki entry (US Discography section)? Apparently, every Aphrodite single + Timebomb reached #1 in the Billboard Dance Charts, someone's having a laugh?

Butterfly was the biggest US Dance hit ever too. It's hard to decipher who really is the queen of US Club charts - Kylie, Dannii, or Melly C.

Currently at 104 on Spotify (UK) and the #2 trending music video on YouTube.

Say Something spent a single day on the Daily charts (UK) at #169 with 62,527 streams. So she's significantly up on that, which bodes well. We'll see if she's anywhere tomorrow.

I don't think a physical is planned. A 7" SS was announced when the album went up for preorder.

Will another number one ALBAM break any further records for our Kylie? Bring September on and lets hope for no shock releases from ED or Coldplay etc

I think the advantage of having a streaming hit is not to capture the streaming demographic but rather to bring her back to the attention of older streamers who might have previously written her off and are more likely to invest in an album.

We all know a hit single does not guarantee any sort of success in the album charts.
