What Are You Watching? 2024 (1 Viewer)

Finished Red Eye this evening. Enjoyed it a lot. Surprised that it doesn't seem to have been particularly well reviewed.

Shame the hot lecturer from Big Boys wasn't in it more often and less clothed.

Not sure if anyone has watched this season of BGT but surely she will WALK IT?

I read very mixed things about Ripley so have skipped for now.

Red Eye was fun nonsense. Ol Dicky Armitage is very hammy.

I finished A Gentleman In Moscow, which I thought was interesting, if an episode or two too long. Finding Capote vs The Swans a little hard going. I'm not sure there is quite enough there.

Really enjoyed Blue Lights, even if it felt a tad soapier than the first run, and the last episode was very satisfying. It could have been a series finale but pleased they are doing more. I have the last one of The Responder still to watch.

I finished C4 yoof drama The Gathering tonight, which featured some terrible parenting and a very strong young cast, especially the lead. It really warmed up over the series.

Loves things a&e after dark Monday new 24 hours in a&e kool hell obsseed it ant half hit mom o dear how sad never mind shore missing few thangs

T rexs kool fact

Is anyone bothering with QUEENIE on C4? I read half the book, quite interested in following through with it more easily via the medium of the TELEXBOX

Yes have watched three I think and am enjoying. It isn't exactly subtle but I felt it improved after the first episode.

A bit of an adjustment in episode one getting used to Jon Pointing not being very likeable.

Will give it a watch this week I think. Are they all available or is it two per week? I saw there was a double bill on the first night..

Just finished Eric on Netflix, recommended.

Midway through Scavenger’s Reign with Ron Jr, if you like Ghibli the animation is very ‘inspired by’ but the plots a bit more gnarly and scifi. Loving it.

Finished S1 of The Lincoln Lawyer on Netflix. Pretty good and think I’ll continue to S2 now.

Tried to watch Presumed Innocent on TV+ but it’s another really slow burner. Probably won’t continue as I’m too busy binging Grey’s Anatomy - now halfway through S4!

I'm trying with The Sympathizer on Sky but it is hard going even with multiple Robert Downey Jrs.

I've seen promo online for Colin From Accounts S2 as it is already on in Australia. I do hope the BBC come through with a release date STAT
Yes I really enjoyed this. I've seen a lot more quality stuff from Oz in recent years.

Queen Suranne documentary on the witch trials, featuring Bat For Lashes getting her to howl very, very loudly.

The HBO Stax Records documentary series on Sky was very good, even though it was a story I was familiar with and the focus was on a select few acts.

I was anticipating Amazon's My Lady Jane to be quite silly, but two and a bit episodes in it is several levels of loopy above expectations. Good fun though.

So I have started Queenie and loving it so far, nice short episodes, easy to watch, lots of London social commentary.

I would really like The Bear to stop with these montage episodes. Three episodes of season three down, and it is quite hard work.

Finished My Lady Jane. It was quite the silly romp with a truly demented Mary Tudor (Kate O'Flynn, recently seen in Henpocalypse) and Anna Chancellor, Rob Brydon and Dominic Cooper all obviously having great fun.

I've now started Fellow Travelers. That foot in mouth scene...

I've just started BIG BOYS after a friend recommended it. I'd never heard of it. Quite enjoyed the first episode in a Inbetweeners kind of way

Love Me, Australian dysfunctional family dramedy with Hugo Weaving on W/UW/whatever it is called now. Nothing earth-shatteringly original, but I am entertained.

Watched the first two episodes of The Great Season 3. Still a HOOT. Still ploughing on with The Bear as well and it has picked up. I liked the Tina episode. Unfortunately Disney+ with adverts remains a nightmare on my TV. Every time it comes back from adverts the picture is draggy and I have to go back to the menu and resume.

Need to start the new season of Vikings: Valhalla and I am also very much looking forward to Those About to Die, with Anthony Hopkins, coming this week on Amazon.

I'm currently struggling to the end of We Are Lady Parts s2. I loved series one, but am finding this one to be flat and virtually joke-free.

Earlier I also stumbled across iPlayer's tacky (but highly watchable) TRUE CRIME section, so I just watched a 15 minute doc about the plot to kill Holly Willoughby. The poor love, I'd previously assumed it was all suped up by the tabloids until yer man got convicted last week.

Very pleased that Changing Ends series 2 has been promoted and doesn't have a year long wait to be shown on ITV1.

As is the way, some of those kids are already looking quite a bit older.

Jenna Coleman in The Jetty on the BBC. Obviously she is old enough to have a teenage girl but hearing her colleague tell her that she is so old makes me feel ancient.

I'm intrigued based on the first episode, though there is a dreadful podcaster character that takes me right out of it when she pops up.

Binge watched all of Clarkson’s Farm over the last few weeks, did all of season 3 yesterday. I hate to say it, but its great telly

Lots kool stuff things on box tonight c4 9pm brand new 8 out 9 cats dose count down iam so slow got loads catch up on

Ligers rule

Finished off Vikings: Varhalla and started Those About to Die, which I am not really sure about yet. Some very clunky dialogue.

I've one more Buffy season 4 episode left (aka the finale). I'm told it goes a bit off the boil. I think I watched season 5 back in the day as I do remember the sister. If I can tolerate her, then I'll go full steam ahead. The pictutr quality varies wildly on Disney+ but I'd say overall it's not a looker as it ought to be. The smirk Willow's girlfriend does is worthy of being slapped with a trout - had no recollection of the actress popping up in 1 episode of the 1 season long Ringer (2011-12).

Shoulda been right up my street, but took me all of my 3 month cheapo subscription to slog through it, and I still didn't bother with the last episode before cancelling. I'd just check out the best bits via LPSG if I had my time again
