Those films were still in the public consciousness well in to the 90’s/00’s. They weren’t small independent movies so I would still say that he is fairly well known.

27 YEAR OLDS DO NOT KNOW PAULINE QUIRKE. I can ask my 22 year old and I am sure she will know the guy from Honey, I Shrunk the Kids and Little Shop of Horrors over her from BIRDS OF A FEATHER.
 
Although she probably would know more about Honey I Shrunk the Kids experience from Universal Studios in Florida TO BE FAIR.

Rick Moranis was famous enough for some rando to just punch him in the face in NYC :( It’s thought that the same man targeted Steve Buscemi. So pouncing on completely inoffensive and quite well liked actors with no real known faults seems to be this person’s MO :o

Not to bring down the mood, but I believe Rick Moranis stepped away from showbiz because his wife died and he wanted to focus on raising his young kids.

He did, but that was 30 years ago. He’s come back occasionally for voice work and I heard he was cast in something recently.
