Name an obsolete thing you can’t do without

That’s the eco- thing though.

I’ve noticed my posh skincare brand does bars of soap- and keeps sending me them cause I’m spending too much money with them.
Yes, clearly. And I'm not surprised - I know lots of companies are selling refill packets and sachets to decant into plastic bottles, but who can really be faffed doing that?

We've signed up to one of those "refill eco toothpaste" sites. First delivery of a glass bottle with pump, plus your sachet of refill. The pump just doesn't work. Have emailed them, keep getting "have you tried this?", "now this?" over about four emails, then said "you do realise only a pea sized amount comes out?", then asks for a video, which I do, only for them to send an email saying "Oh, yes, you do have a problem, we’ve been getting loads of complaints about it- it appears this bottle/ pump isn't suitable for our toothpaste, so we've had to find a replacement but for regulatory reasons, it's going to be three months before we can send you a replacement, but we'll pop you on the waiting list, in the meantime, just pour it straight from your refill sachet (which means it will come flying out and disappear within about a third of the expected time).

UTTERLY ridiculous.

I got sent a shampoo bar a while ago. It was SO annoying to use. Probably fine if you’ve got short hair though.

Will never forget someone at work using some kind of “vegan shampoo bar” years ago. Turned her dyed blonde hair bright yellow.

I’m sure they’ve improved since then .

Fancy @Nancy with his instant boiled water tap.
I was looking into getting one of these thinking “oh they must be about £300 these days”

“Over a grand!? Maybe not”

Kettles and toasters are those kinda inventions that they got right the first time. Thank you industrialism.

I chucked my toaster out now the airfyer basically does the same

The instant hot water taps are one of the best reasons to go in to the office! One of my friends has one at home. I would drink SO much more tea if I had one, so maybe it’s for the best.

We just got a hot water tap with our new kitchen, so no kettle for us. We did get it for free though as a sweetener to seal the kitchen deal.

My friend has one of those hot water taps. The fact that it can give you sparkling water impresses me more. But I very much would worry about scalding myself with the hot water.

The only time I've struggled so far is filling up a hot water bottle. It's better to fill a jug and then use that to fill the water bottle.

Hot water bottle is something I THOUGHT would've been obsolete.

Not necessarily obsolete, but a lot of music from before my lifetime (pre 21st century) 🎶

My oven is obsolete, I had a new one fitted when we re did our kitchen 18 mo the ago, I've used it twice. I just use the air fryer for everything.
