Tennis 2025

I'd forgotten how much I fancied Marin Cilic. Shirtless or nude pics pls Marin pal :disco:

I do think & hope Jack will come back & win this though. A tough fight against a vastly experienced player will hopefully encourage him to get his arse in gear for the rest of the tournament.

Surprised they didn’t give Jack Centre after being on No1 first round as he’s up against a slam winner who could be a banana skin. Djokovic and Evans was always going to be a blowout and shouldn’t have been near CC with Nole having been there first round.

what a match :disco: I think Jack can do it but it will be tight and I want the drama of a tiebreaker

Obviously Cilic has been an amazing player but he's 37 & been injured for ages. It's the sort of match you have to win.

Jack has developed a mental block with this tournament, I feel, the longer he goes without passing the second round the worse it'll get.

OT: Čilić‘s name with all its FUCKING ACCENTS comes in my work more often than any other, thanks to the decision his doping ban being cited in other cases ALL THE TIME. I had no idea he was still going.

Marton Fucsovics giving the fans what they want at the end of the 4th set against Monfils. :horny:
sets three and four were fantastic. I'm not sure who the break benefits, probably not Monfils... I love him though. if he does go through they have to give him a bigger court next round.

I do hate a caron. NOTHING BUT TROUBLE. I blame GLORIA HUNNIFORD

I didn't seee the match as was watching Lana, so I can't comment on how he played. A mental block with the tournament is perhaps a bit unfair though. He's only played 4 times here, two of his losses at Wimbledon were to Djokovic and Di Minaur when he was lowly ranked and they were top seeds. Then he lost to Norrie last year when I believe their ranking was similar-ish, and Norrie had the form and experience at Wimbledon. Yes on paper he absolutely should have won yesterday, but was it just a bad day/poor performance for him? His other draws at this tournament have genuinely been tough based on his rankings at that time.

Sonay & Cameron both coming through in straight sets. Pavs next for Sonay & Fonseca or Jarry for Cameron. Neither is a given of course but the draw for a quarter final could have been much worse for both.

Hoping Emma gives a good account of herself vs Sabs now.

Keys and Svit dropping in straight sets today :( that leaves only Sabs among my WTA queens still standing. grass slam let's go!!

I couldn't catch tonight's match but it sounds like Emma performed really well? I hope she'll take heart from this current form and have a good shot at a longer run in New York next month without having to play the best player in the world in round 3.

Rooting for Krejcikova at this stage! 🥹 Would be a great story again with her injuries. Also, hope Iga beats Collins today.

I’m starting to like Sabalenka more and more. Apart from the odd on-court outburst she’s quite well-behaved and respectful towards other players. Impressed how she kept her cool last night. Also, she’s quite funny 🤭

I....don't like Sabalenka.

The match was great last night. I hope Emma maintains that form.

Ben Shelton was absolutely outrageous tonight against Fucsovics, who was also great (but basically fucked once Ben took the set two tiebreak). he is surely gonna win more than one slam in the near future, some of his tennis was at the level of Carlos's recent best.

not that electronic line call drama potentially handing Sonay the set :D ouch

There really should be some sort of alternative review system available for this situation when the ball is blatantly out. I can understand why Pavs feels aggrieved.

I would've made a much bigger scene if I were her! if she loses this match Wimbledon are surely opening themselves up to a lawsuit

Not as bad as umpire Ted Watts handing Karolina Sprem an extra point in the tiebreak vs Venus in 2004. Surely that was a situation when the referee should have stopped the match & corrected the score.

It doesn't work that way. They'll have T&Cs upon sign up that any judging decision is final etc. Same way no one can do anything about bad VAR decisions.

that was the first time I've seen Sonay play and I'm not sure I found her that impressive. maybe it was an off-day but lots of sloppy errors and no standout element to her game.

Pavs is by far the best player never to be ranked in the top 10. So many appearances in Grand Slam quarters, more than many players who were ranked a few places higher.

I did think her referring to Sonay as LOCAL sounded like a bit of a READ :D

Epic 4.5 hour match with Norrie finally winning over Jarry. There was some tension at the handshake & also between Jarry with the umpire earlier on but I wasn't paying enough attention to get what the gist of it was.
