Tori Amos - In Times of Dragons (New album) (1 Viewer)

I seen a clip from one of the Q&A portions and she said Kate Winslet would be her choice to play her in a movie. I'm choosing to believe she meant Blanchett; she would most certainly get a kick out of all her isms.

Yes the backing vocalists were great, you really are in for a treat, she was excellent.
 
I love the look of last night’s Bristol set most so far, I really want one that includes Give, i i e e e and Bliss too.

Gasoline Girls is adorable. I've loved each of the new songs so far in their own way.

Just listened to Gasoline Girls for the first time & while I did like it, it's probably the most Kate Bush I can ever recall her sounding. The vocal inflection on the chorus alone seemed pure Kate, is it just me?

girls. I just checked out of the blue if the Paris show has any tickets left and there were eight available. so I snatched one. can't afford it, but I definitely cannot afford to never see her live. so here we go. :disco: please please give me Vegas and Cornflake Girl!

Congrats on getting tickets! She did crucify and cornflake girl at Sheffield so hopefully she'll do them again for you. Oh and she also did vegas too.
 
She was SUBLIME last night. Easily one of the best concerts I've ever been to. I was 5 rows from the front and am still buzzing at seeing this living legend do her thing up close. I can't get over how wonderful the backing vocalists were. We have Tori singing beautifully in her lower range, with the 3 white witches serving peak-era-Tori backing vocals throughout. It was like having the best of both worlds!

Don't Make Me Come To Vegas and Witness were the highlights for me.
 
I’d say calling the three ladies backing vocalists (I’m talking about the general description not your specific comment FF) is selling them very short. They do a lot of very prominent singing.

For me it was interesting to see how they changed the dynamic of the songs and I understand and am grateful that this may be the way to enable Tori to continue as a live act. However, the person I was with, and many others judging by the exiting comments, found them quite distracting and thought their mics were too loud.

I think she’s missing a chance of a huge cheer to mash some sort of Silent All These Years reprise into the ending of the fab Shush. Really enjoyed the show personally though. It’s interesting how a particular song may not be an absolute fave but be the one to hit the spot at every Tori gig and for me this time it was ‘Putting The Damage On’ which I would not have predicted from the setlist we had.

Yes I suppose you could call them co-vocalists rather than backing vocalists, as they really do a lot more than your standard backing singers. And yes, I can absolutely understand why some people may feel they're perhaps used excessively, but I just can't agree really. I absolutely adored them and I felt there was enough of Tori singing alone throughout. But yep, I can see why others may disagree.

Not a lot else to say other than what's already been said! She was fantastic last night in London. They've struck the exactly right balance with the Angles in how they are present enough to elevate and mix up the songs, but the star and your focus is still fully on Tori.

A near enough 4 hour round trip due to WOKE TRAIN UNIONS but worth it. She threw in Precious Things for the first time so that was a nice (and only) surprise. While hardly a deep cut, it came at a point where some normalcy was kind of needed so I didn't resent it at all. And it sounded fantastic OF COURSE.
 
Not much more to say other than it was really great! I of course miss the old days of her BIG VOX and FIRE but this was top form for modern Tori and very enjoyable!

I got quite EMOSH during Putting The Damage On, and Pandora and Shush were also highlights!
