I made a decision to buy the Grindr edition vinyl after a post bottle of red wine app visit. It of course hasn’t arrived yet.

Tempted to pop into HMV and get the 16 track CD too. I could stream but I’m feeling physical with this release. I haven’t listened to it yet.

I’d ordered the 16 track deluxe from Amazon, but of course it hasn’t arrived yet - due tomorrow. I wasn’t expecting to be in town today but ended up there, called in HMV and was SHOCKED by how shit it looks for 32 quid - it says if includes a book but it must be a bloody thin book! And I didn’t realise the 16 track version was also available on cd for £12.99! So I bought that and I’ll send the deluxe back when it arrives. Probably.

So, with the amounts of variants, what levels of sales is actually “disappointing”? I word that carefully as long as you get the sales, it ultimately doesn’t matter, but considering the amount of Insta posts I’ve seen with loads of variants, you have to think, what, in the UK:

At least 2000 people have bought 10+/All
At least 3000 people have bought 5
At least 5000 people have bought 2-3 (let’s say 3)

That’s 50k before you even think about people who just buy one and add streaming in.

Or am I massively overestimating things?

I really don't think 3000 people bought 5 variants each. I would guess the amount of people buying 3 variants or more is probably 2-3000 max.

Yeah, there's not so many people who will buy in that kind of quantity. I have only twice bought two versions of an album on the same day - one of them was 'brat' (a vinyl and a CD) and I felt like an absolute rube when she added 3 songs and announced the CD of that version during the opening week. I'm finding it hard enough to track down one pressing of some of the albums I want these days.

Yeah, it was the reviews and the responses in here that made me bite and there's probably many like me who will at least give it a stream out of curiosity.

I still haven’t had time to listen but picked up the 16 track CD passing HMV today as the Grindr vinyl is a no show so far ( how on brand).

I also picked up Tension II when in as the completist in me sought it out. Screaming out ageing gay at the till with those purchases.

I got deluxe vinyl, D2C numbered vinyl, CD photo book, Grindr picture disc and RSD indie vinyl. For some reason I don't have access to the community variant which is a beauty and I'll probably grab 16tracks and 12tracks CDs at some point.
