Miley Cyrus - BASS PERSUADES (Sept. 18th) (1 Viewer)

The video is excellent. I like the song, though on initial listening the hook doesn't quite pay off the verses and pre-chorus.

The far superior End Of The World debuted ten places lower, albeit with slightly better streaming numbers. Surely a potential hit song is saved for dropping on album release date. But then it's Miley, so who knows.

People keep saying this is very Madonna / Gaga but I think it's more Heidi Montag. And I mean that in a complimentary way.

It reminds me of “School” from COAD2 a little. Though not nearly as good.

Just had a first listen to the album. The title track is kind of an outlier, as I don't really hear anything else like it on here. It's mostly slower, moody, midtempo stuff.

REDLIGHTS is gorgeous. Kind of ABBA-esque in terms of melody.

If you have an hour to spare you can watch Miley complaining and being miserable in this interview.

but here are some highlights

She's still not over her live show at a festival in Mexico around 5 years ago :(

Mixed bag for me, but also a mixed bag musically. Like a 00s pop album it’s just a bit of everything. But a couple of great tunes on there. I love “Let’s Get Married” and “Redlights” has potential

This is very much a continuation of Endless Summer Vacation to me, which I don’t mind, minus a Flowers anyway..

My initial highlights are Neon Signs, Redlights, and Let’s Get Married

the album is a complete slog. she hasn't made a good one since Plastic Hearts. it's all so bland. she's Miley fucking Cyrus!

REDLIGHTS definitely comes closest to being something interesting, but the production is a bit limp. Kid Harpoon has never been good for her.

Oh that's my favourite one. It sounds like an 8 that could've been a 9 or 10.

I pretty much like everything on the album while at the same time thinking it feels a bit undercooked or something.

This album is not good. It feels like a panicked overcorrection after the commercial failure of the previous one. She clearly wanted a safer, more mainstream pop sound, but the rushed production made the whole thing backfire. Something Beautiful was way better.

Now everyone, go listen to Carly's latest! It's magnificent.

I wish the album ‚Never trust a pretty face‘ was re-released.. it’s Amanda Lear’s best album by far and has been unavailable for 30 years. In fact all of her albums bar Sweet Revenge are unavailable.. instead there are a ton of trashy Best Of’s that don’t do her justice at all.

I'm really enjoying this album. It feels like she's found a really comfortable lane for herself over the last few records.

The album title though? Report her to advertising standards.

Midnight Sky was a huge hit all the same. I'd hazard a guess its upper echelon chart run was as long as Flowers, just not a number 1.

Slide Away is her greatest lost hit for me.

Where is this ALBAM likely to land in the UK and US charts? what are the MIDS?
