VMAs 2026

Disappointed they used that DREARY mix of Bring Your Love too. They should have gone with the album version.

Overall she did really well though.

Just saw the whole thing. The camera work is a bit shoddy so I hope the 'cleaned up' version will be better.
Danceteria was fabulous 11/10, no notes. The transintion on the table was pure Madonna gold and I enjoyed it. I think BYL could have been a bit less 'busy' - I'd have preferred it if it was actually a bit similar to the original Coachella perf with just the two of them and maybe the fembot AIs. I don't think we needed all those dancers...
But all in all, fabulous and I hope the Charli remix will inject some more longevity for the album.

Just watched the whole thing too, and during some of the clips that appeared online live last night I was thinking it all looked a bit MESSY but actually Danceteria is amazing and the precision to detail to pull that off live is astounding. I really liked the One Step Away type choreo to break the two songs up also. I'd have actually liked a bit of that song in there with Madonna on her own to break the two duets up, it would have worked after or with the choir.
All in all very well done and fabulous :disco:

It’s NOT what I SAY
It’s NOT what I DO
It’s how my Body Language talks to you

There's a lot of AGEIST stuff online but most of the response is (perhaps somewhat begrudgingly from some) positive.

She's in an interesting space artistically. On the one hand the culture has moved to a point where the pundits sort of have to give her 'her flowers' but on the other hand the usual dissenting voices who will not like anything she does regardless of what she looks like or how old she is etc. etc. are still spouting the same hate - but they seem to be less amplified.

Annieways.

Given that there has been no tour announcement I suspect this means that there most likely won't be one.

I saw a lot of Gaga accounts being nasty and the usual grandma needs to stay home but it was generally well received.

I've moxtly read comments about angry geriatric millennials (I should know, I am one!) reminiscing about times when the VMAs were actually relevant. They wre an event; celebrities would fight over invitations so they could attend. It's very telling how it got progressively worse and now it's full of Influencers instead of actual musicians, but oh well, that's how the music industry works nowadays.

I particularly remember actually watching it with friends at somebody's house where we would order in, bet on winners and gag over performances; like Gaga's Paparazzi, which was surreal to experience it real time. Poor Gen Alpha will never have it as good.

musical awards shows in particular really died a massive death in the last 5-10 years. which is odd because a big performance is still one of the best ways to sell your artistry and even if it's not watched live anyone can see it on the internet.

but then live performance promo in general is dead sadly. again odd given that demand for live music in a touring capacity has rarely been higher.

Now are the streaming numbers going UP?
Are the physicals for the Afterhours mix being set OUT?

They removed that bit on the version they uploaded so it just shows more dancers now haha

I feel she was told that this bit on the stairs was not going to be filmed/aired, but the camera was so chaotic it got shown.
Although TROLLDONNA also may have just not CARED! But I feel she's too professional for that..
