Hear’Say Reunion! Coming back strong… with Liberty X - to arenas! (2 Viewers)

That first little bit is actually very realistic! :disco: (Im shouting in Nat appleton not Nic for those that know)

I saw them being interviewed on This Morning and found it quite weird that two members of Hear’say are now grandparents.

That's the power of BBC Breakfast promo!

I demand Sunday Brunch with an acoustic set (KYM would lap that up!) to sell the last remainder tickets of these TOO huge venues

Phenomenal demand? Nothing has been sold yet :D

Are they planning on doing a Matinee in Aberdeen, then an evening show in Sheffield on the 11th? :eyes:

Looks like both are available. The more expensive is the WOW pit, whatever that may be.

Just checked a few dates and sales are looking... soft.

For the O2 it looks like they're only showing certain rows as available to make it look better sold.

And for Dublin I've never seen a gig where they just don't bother puting the rear blocks onsale at all 🥴

Cardiff is a small arena and they have chosen to remove all floor seating to have standing only downstairs (£72), with a small balcony seated upstairs (£104 and £142). They still have front row balcony for sale.

My kink is checking the sales for this tour

Let's have a look at Glasgow

Thank goodness all those groups booked out entire rows!! :)

I just don't get how this keeps happening. there must be a way for bookers to gauge demand instead of setting up acts to fail. Robyn just struggled to sell arenas. who actually thought Liberty X would? and 15 of them?

This reeks of some kind of weird insurance scam.

A one-off gig in London or something would have been the absolute max this could realistically have achieved successfully.

What's the logic behind gatekeeping rows initially? Is it to create the illusion of scarcity and demand? Or is it just easier to reserve in bulk and sell off rows to the seat filler companies in advance?
Edit: I get it now, it's to spread out whatever demand there is across the venue instead of having odd blocks/sections with just a handful of people.

You'd think it would be relatively easy to create some sort of algorithm or formula using Spotify monthly listeners, Instagram engagement and historic box office data to spit out a "do not proceed" or "proceed" verdict. Though that probably wouldn't be suitable for legacy rock arts who have more of a "passive" analogue fanbase.

It can't be in these venues interests to just secure dates for anyone who comes in wanting to do a date there even if they're providing an up front set fee, the venue is still missing out on charging a full house for parking, food, bars, etc.

I suppose the success of the Five tour when their streams probably wouldn't have been anything special made this kind of thing seem feasible.

As for the blocking off of rows, yeah I thought it was to make it seem better sold than it is but I think also different ticketing platforms have different allocations.

The latter is pretty shocking, especially considering the actual picture is almost certainly way worse

Ah that makes sense, I thought naively that there was some sort of API between all the ecom platforms that sell tickets and the venue, so if someone bought a seat on Ticketmaster it would within a second remove that seat from AXS. Much like how sites like expedia, booking.com, etc work back/forth with airlines. Perhaps I'm giving the live events industry too much credit...

I would have thought the PCD tour would have made them think twice about this.

Hear’Say already had to deal with being flopstars the first time around and looks like they’ll have to do it again

But seriously we’ve been waiting for the bubble to burst on the ridiculous ticketing industry and here we are. The public truly said NOT TODAY

Live Nation et al to apologise on screen, especially because they always get to dodge the bullet when the artists, who usually take an up front fee and have no control over venues / pricing / tour budgeting etc, get the blame.
