In the UK, 'Wonderful Dream' - the English Version, was the Hit - Number 13.
The French Version was the Hit in Europe.
It was the 1974 ESC that had the most UK Hits from it.
'Waterloo' Number 1, for ABBA, 'Go' - Gigliolia Cinquetti, (Italy), Number 8, 'I See A Star' - Mouth & McNeal - Number 8. (Holland).
'Long Live Love' - Olivia Newton-John - Number 11 (UK).
They came 1st, 2nd, 3rd, & 4th, in the 1974 Contest.

Well while I'd LOVE TO, it does seem RATHER WEIRD. First all you are a bit of a ODD UN. You don't HALF PRATTLE ON. Not that it's a bad thing coz you seem REASONABLY well informed on subjects I LOVE. But seeing as I don't know you from ADAM it seems a bit STRANGE to give out my address to you... IS ALL.

3) I am very well known at the ABBA List Group in Yahoo, and have Posted there for 4 Years.
4) I also write to numerous UK Chart Books.
5) At Christmas, I got a gift of over 250 Blank CD's. I decided to copy Pop Music on them - and to make sure that as much of it as possible sounded like ABBA, OR 'Pure Pop' - Euro Pop type stuff from the 1970's, mainly.
6) I created 2 CD's of 23 Tracks each - 46 Songs.
7) I then, went to Yahoo ABBA Groups, (ABBA List & ABBA Planet, & ABBA News Service), and asked everyone there to send me their Addresses - so I could send them the 2 CD's.
8) 62 ABBA Fans responded, as did ABBA Writer Carl Magnus Palm when I E-mailed him. As did Fred Bronson of 'Billboard', and I also sent them to my friend at the UK Chart Company.
9) So, I have sent 65 Sets out so far - 2 each to 65 people.
10) I have sent them to ABBA Fans in:, Argentina, USA, Kuwait, Ireland, Sweden, Belgium, Canada, Australia, Singapore, Holland, Romania, Austria, & all over the UK.
11) I do it because I like to SHARE things.
12) I could not care less if some of the people I send them to think me a prat - liking me, is neither here nor there. I just ENJOY sharing the CD's.
Some Fans have been very nervous to send me their Address, as they think there is a 'catch' - this is the World we live in. You want to give a GIFT, and some people think you are 'after' something.
There is no catch.
ABBA ARTICLES
Oh, once the 2 CD's are sent to everyone, I send out several UK ABBA Articles - recent - within the next 2 Weeks.
They are 100% FREE too.
Everyone who gets the CD's, I send the Articles to - in about 2 Weeks.
It is as simple - and FREE - as that. I pay the POSTAGE too.

The CD's are already created.
As they are 100% FREE, why not just chuck them in the bin, if you already have the Tracks on them? (But you WON'T have several of them).
I sent them to 65 ABBA Fans, and not one had everything on them - they had some - but MANY Songs, they had never even heard before, as they were 100% NOT Hits in the UK - or USA - OR Australia.
Indeed I have over 1,500 Singles, and I had never even heard about 20 of the Tracks before.
Some of the others were Hits, in the UK, so long ago, that you cannot even get them on CD now.
The 2 CD's are a SURPRISE.
How can they be a surprise if I List the Tracks on them?
In the 3 ABBA Yahoo Groups, only 2 Fans refused to let me send them, just because I never typed out the 46 Tracks for them.
The rest just let me send them - and many got back to me and said:,
'I cannot believe this was not a UK Hit! I have never heard it before!'.
One Group in particular is VERY like ABBA, and they are 100% UNKNOWN in the UK.
There are 4 of their Songs on the 1st CD.
I send them - FREE - in a Padded Bag, and you get them sometime in the coming Week.
I think you will LOVE many of the Tracks.
As you pay nothing for them - you have nothing to lose.....

I was just pointing out that the CD's are sent in a padded bag. I never made out that the padded bag was ultra special.
I am not interested in Scams, (Incognito), other peoples money, or their sarcasm.
I offered 2 CD's for nothing, and some people here took it as an opportunity to be bad mannered - very.
Elsewhere on the Internet, those who were interested in the CD's, were polite about it.
Those who were not interested, ignored my suggestion for their addresses.
What NONE of them did was come up with ill mannered, sarcastic remarks.
Since Mid December, I have paid out over £100 of my own cash on CD's, Padded Bags, - and the bulk of it on Postage.
I did it because I wanted to share things. I enjoyed doing the CD's and sharing them.
So - silly - naive me - I thought I would TRY to share with people HERE too!
The reaction that I have had off SOME people here, says more about their tiny little minds than it does about my motives.....
So, today's lesson - Colin - is that some people are so bad mannered, that you try to be kind to them, and they just come up with uncalled for garbage..... At least at MOOPY!!!!!!

I'm sure having your generosity questioned isn't particularly pleasant. But then again, being asked to send our addresses to someone we don't know is the sort of thing that it is only safe to question, all things considered.
I also don't think it's unreasonable to ask for a track listing, or suggest that uploading them might be more suitable, if you do enjoy sharing. A lot of people here may well have a lot of the tracks you have on the CDs. And by sharing this way, any perfectly valid doubts people have about giving their address to a stranger aren't a problem.
As for the reaction you got, that's just moopy, I'm afraid. I assume you haven't been outside the Abba and Eurovision forums much!

I hesitated for weeks before offereing the 2 CD's here, and this is because part of me expected a negative - mistrusting - reaction off several people.
That is what I have got - so my hesitation was correct.
What I did NOT expect was 'jokes' about psychopaths, bodies in the post, and a scam concerning money.
I am not violent - in any way. Nor am I interested in other peoples money.
I like creating the CD's.
It has been fun.
However, the fun was not to continue by offering to do the CD's for people here.
If I want to be insulted I will go and argue Politics at C4 Forums.
I did not anticipate ill manners at Moopy, just because I offered 2 Free CD's.
