My Neck, My Back, Lick My Sunday and My Crack

I've had cereal, a shag and a walk. Sunday may have peaked already.
 
I treated myself to a lovely new foldable pruning saw and tinsnips yesterday at B&Q, along with chicken wire, three bags of gravel and fine steel wool. Today I will be using everything but the pruning saw to fashion chicken wire and steel wool "sausages" to fill the holes down the side of the house made by rodents. Once the sausages are in place I will fill the holes with gravel.

I'm seriously considering getting another pet snake.
 
I've been waking up several times from various fucked up dreams/nightmares since 7am and decided to get up as I didn't want to experience another one.
 
I've been waking up at a decent time recently, which is fairly uncommon for me. I quite enjoy getting to mid morning and having done shit already instead of dozing to podcasts.

Yes, the snake smell repels rodents even if the rodents do not know snakes exist on this planet, millions of years of evolution and it's deeply-seated in their genes. All the years we had a pet snake we didn't have mice in either house despite one backing on to a field and this one backing on to a park.

Depends on their size and you only need to feed them once a week (and not at all when they're shedding their skin or laying eggs), providing you don't care that you have to keep dead animals in your freezer it's fine. Little snakes just eat pinkies (newborn hairless mice), slightly bigger is mice, then chicks, then rats, then rabbits for giant snakes. Piney (the old snake) at 7 feet should have been on two rats a week but she'd had a problem with a rat one time so she refused to eat them after that and got two large mice and two chicks a week. The worst part of keeping a snake is the smell of their poo, it's so bad it lives in my memory and I can start retching just remembering it, it's worse than the colostomy ward smell!

Honestly, it's more of a faff keeping the tortoise fed than a snake.
