Great songs by artists past their commercial peak

Debatable. It was an underperforming single from a UK #1 album, and Lotus actually did okay considering the circumstances. Was she really past her commercial peak at that point?
She was obviously never going to do Christina Aguilera, Stripped, or Back to Basics numbers again, but I don't think she'd fully entered her post peak era yet. If we were talking about something from 2015 onward, then I'd definitely agree :eyes: Calling @Loufoque to back me up :disco:

Nah this album felt like an almighty FLOP at the time. It might have hit #1 thanks for what had come before, but I doubt it sold much. The singles were all over the place. This was still a great song though, a career best.

God I love The Girl From Tiger Bay. So good I can get past the lyrical repetition in the second verse which should irritate a lot more.

After The Rain is my favourite from that album though. I adore the her vocal.

This is some epic trolling of Lorde surely. She’s still relatively current I would have said. She’s not waving frantically going ‘remember me’ exactly.

Utterly tremendous in all ways. But I still think this is the epitome of getting it RIGHT if not as ‘classic’

What a rush :disco:

Oh yeah I prefer WTFH too, my favourite Steps song most days! But was playing to the Moopy masses with that pick

I don't know about songs later than this by Passenger/Mike Rosenberg, but I thought this was really good (the music video scenery too) 🌄

A younger act could totally have seen some moderate chart action with this at the time, but despite only being 29(!) by 2000 poor Tiff was already consigned to relic of another era status.
