Madonna - Confessions II OUT NOW (1 Viewer)

I am struck by the realisation that 'Everything' is kind of like a yassified boomer Facebook post.

Can someone please show me where this HEAVY TINKERING is because I feel like I’m being gaslit by the entire Madonna fandom.

The single was taken off Apple Music and put back on so I’m sure there has been a bit of remastering to make it all sound crisper (although I can’t hear a huge difference), but all this talk about different vocal takes, added production elements and “all of the fans’ issues with the song being addressed!” (source: some Reddit person) is surely nonsense.
 
I noticed a few noticeable changes, especially the production in the second half of the chorus. And I think one of Sabrina's vocal bits is a little different. But people are acting like it's a different song.
 
There’s an instrumentals version out now, but it’s not free. Gotta love the cover art! :D I can’t see it on iTunes but it’s on 7digital.

it’s not heavy but there are definite mixing differences between the two versions. The Good Life sample for example sounds more prominent on the album version. The album version also sounds crisper.

I agree, the vocal take on Sabrina's verse is very different in places. but the production all across the board is very pumped up.

Yeah. I accept some of the vocal production may possibly be altered too but again I think it's subtle. Certainly no additional or alternate vocal takes to my ears at least.
 
Bizarre has absolutely slapped my tits clean off this morning. what a song. the intro alone. that into School is SUCH a deep deep pleasure. the segue from wistful introspection on love over an EDM synth riff to a slutty sexual education entendres over the grimiest beat on the album. incredible...
 
and the tiny Sorry throwback ("I've seen it all before!") in the middle 8. ugh.
 
her vocal intonation on "you've been huRRRRt before" is such a Madonna Moment™ .

When the Rapture comes, and we’re all being split into two camps, it will not longer be labelled good and evil. It will be labelled based on whether you are a first half or second half of Confessions II sort of person.
 
Another thing worth celebrating with this album is that we’re listening to Madonna’s voice again - not the vox but her point of view.

I mean sure, there have been elements across every album where Madonna is honest and provocative and symbolic, but since maybe American Life, it feels like it’s either been a distant second to the production, or distracted by the album’s overall execution or lack of direction.

In all the reviews and chatter it feels like people have really been listening to what she has to say, and enjoying it all the more for it. Given that it’s another dance album, I certainly wasn’t expecting that. It’s another reason why it feels like she’s BACK.
 
agreed. American Life was her last album with a strong perspective, and that overall was a mixed bag. you felt Madame X was trying to be that too, with a song like God Control for example, but too many of the songs didn't land a message. see Killers Who Are Partying. "I'll be Africa, if Africa is shut down." right?
 
omg the behind the scenes is so fun. I'm so sure a full video will come.
