Tangled Up (20th Anniversary Edition 3 disc reissue with 2 new unreleased songs)

Nice to have, doubt I'll ever feel the need to play it again.

I feel like this is my favourite GA album but yeah as I haven’t played it in years I’ll stream it if I get the notion.

hasn’t each reissue had two new songs? There’s more in the vaults then, surely?

That Girl Overboard version is rubbish. Never a need to play it again against the glory of the original.

There is a track from around this time called Bored Stupid that was expected to be here but I guess it makes sense to “gatekeep” things for future re-releases.

Guessing by the way Xenomania is said to work where they’d record hundreds of different verses and choruses before the songs are franksteined together, there is surely a lot more in different stages of completion..

That version just lacks the thundering energy of the album version and there aren't any alternate lines to make it interesting.

Adding "Walk This Way" as if it's a welcome bonus...

I am usually in favour of mopping up all the stray songs on reissues, but in this case... BOTHERD

Interested to hear the two new songs of course. I haven't actually bought Chemistry yet, I was waiting to see it going cheap and that hasn't happened. I may just bite the bullet on the next Rarewaves 10% offer.

I'll admit, I haven't bought these. Too many remixes, something in which I have no interest at all. I have so many of the CD singles that I'm not missing too many songs and not enough for £20 a time.

It's hard keeping the cat in the zoo :D

Overall it is fine and I quite like Nicola's bit, but overall this is one song that really suits MORE NADINE

The two new songs are great!

BOOP BOOP DO DO DO BOOP BOOP DO DO DO :disco:

Nadine truly operated at a level above fully formed lyrical concepts.

What's A Girl To Do might be the best of the unreleased songs so far... sorry Disco Bunny.

The alternative Close To Love (tasty not too hasty) is also a considerable upgrade on the Girl Overboard one.

I've never heard the b-sides from this era before and those paired up with the unreleased ones sound amazing. How did I miss these? I may be in the minority, but Dog Without A Bone, Blow Your Cover, What's a Girl to Do; I'm bopping,

Even if Dog Without A Bone sounds basically like I Can't Speak French with different lyrics

I've not heard it... yet... but how could that be a bad film - that's like Girls Aloud top 5 for me.

All this for the worst album cover of its era :D

It was driving me mad trying to work out what the backing track from "What's A Girl To Do" was lifted from until I searched through a whole lotta history on iTunes and remembered that it's THIS:

What's A Girl To Do

This being so good makes me wonder how on earth they weren't just keeping it for the next album as it absolutely would have been a much needed spritz of uptempo for Out of Control and would really be at home with the likes of the more pensive The Loving Kind and thr Kelly Llorenna meets some sunken trance world of Untouchable's crestfallen ballad thump throttle.

My Heart is overlapped quite easily, but you can hear something poised for a better hook just waiting to give it some take-off. Some of the lyrics are absolutely woeful. Great b-side fodder though.
