Nothing teasing news on Bananarama or Sara's account, so unless she has got in early (unlikely) it is something she is doing on her own. TV show?

A quite extraordinary level of RINSING

Presumably this is what Sara and Siobhan were meeting about last year.

Track 15 is missing from the 3 CD but I assume it is Too Much of a Good Thing as the other unreleased song from the Demon reissue is on there.

Yes it is new. The beginning of that edit is a little rough :D

It is fine, but there really is a limit to how excited I can be about another Venus remix at this point.

I don’t think I’ll be biting for this but who knows. I bought the Rhino reissue but not the Edsel which is the one I should probably have got.

Maybe this could be retitled more of a Bananarama general thread.

Having three signed CDs individually available is potentially risky if all the Siobhan and Kerens sell out first leaving a surplus of Saras.

And yeah, not for me. Do a proper remix album or release the whole thing on vinyl (same old me). Literally no need for this at all.

It’s right up there. Second to Wow these days I think. Right now:

1. Wow!
2. True Confessions
3. Bananarama
4. Pop Life
5. Masquerade
6. Please Yourself
7. Drama
8. Viva
9. Deep Sea Skiving
10.In Stereo
11.Ultra Violet
12.Exotica

The top ten are all pretty great, though. I even wonder if I should put Masquerade higher- it’s fantastic. Also, I used to rank PY a lot higher, but I haven’t played it in ages and so might be doing it down.

The True Confessions album tracks have really grown on me over the years. They were definitely right to go knocking on SAW's door though, the hits just weren't there.

1. Wow!
2. Pop Life
3. Bananarama
4. Drama
5. True Confessions
6. Masquerade
7. Please Yourself
8. Deep Sea Skiving
9. Viva
10. In Stereo
11. Ultra Violet
12. Exotica

That'll do for today. I actually dithered most between Viva and In Stereo.

The 3CD tracklisting has been updated and Too Much of a Good Thing is still missing. They are so weird about unreleased songs. A bit surprising that they were ok with Vicious Circle (twice), especially as they actually co-wrote Too Much of a Good Thing.

There are exclusive single LP variants for HMV and Townsend too... I do wonder how many of these are going to be hanging round going cheap for years. The 1000 CD singles are all gone though.

They’ve done a lot of these type of TM Stores release packages now so must be doing alright from them to keep doing them , but yes, True Confessions as a standalone project is an interesting and not that obvious one.

I think I just find the vocals too harsh/processed on Viva and not keen on so many covers but I don’t hate it.

Seeing as we have a special thread for this and everything here’s a look at the merch.

I’d kinda like to know whose signed CD sells out first. I’d say Siobhan, then Keren then Sara.

Siobhan’s should- I’ve got signatures of the other two multiple times on various items already, but I don’t think hers.

I remember around the Reunion tour there was a clip of people waiting to meet them somewhere and someone handed Siobhan a copy of Pop Life on vinyl to sign (obviously a non fan intending to make a few quid) and she handed it back saying she couldn’t sign it. He asked why not and she said because I’m not on it and he incredulously asked “are you sure”? There was another similar incident with that album too.

And yes these mixes are on the reissues. Full length on the vinyl I think, with edits on the 3CD (and presumably full length on the limited bonus CD single).

When I first listened to the mix Chromeo obviously came to mind with the vocal treatment but Earth, Wind & Fire were apparently the inspiration and I can hear it now:

I really like the mix and the rearranged chorus is an interesting alternate.

Also have to love that a big ol flop (undeserved) of a follow up has multiple new mixes forty years later :disco:

Despite Siobhan's involvement with the reissue, it seems that Sara and Keren are handling the promo duties as a duo so far: an interview in Classic Pop and on Radio 2 tomorrow night with Gary Davies. Probably to be expected I suppose.

Signed Obi strip picture disc variant also available now, 200 copies just available through Assai. At least Siobhan has managed to do some signing. I wonder how many cds and vinyl albums have been printed up for this reissue overall.

And already sold out.

I wonder if this will make the midweek chart at least? The huge amounts of variants and continued pressings must mean it's doing fairly good numbers...

They went quickly. Still available when I posted - I was dithering about getting it and didn’t order one, maybe it’s a blessing.

Oh I should think it will definitely show up in the midweeks. I guess some of the sales will be international, but they did the limited 1000 CD singles on the official site within a day I think - and some of those will be multiple sales. The 500 with the print at Banquet are gone too.

It looks like it was about 3000 to chart top 40 this week. Could they stretch to that?

They were typically good value on the Radio 2 Sounds of the 80s. The old jingles were brought out and there were calls/messages from old muckers, including a quite bizarre spot from August Darnell.

Quite enjoying the two new mixes of More Than Physical - previously was not one of my faves of theirs, not to say I didn’t like it.

I've liked both remixes, very well done. One more to go.

I'm hoping they continue with Wow! if only for the remix potential of I Can't Help It.

They keep baiting me into buying something but so far I’ve resisted. I could cave in and make a red wine purchase over the weekend. If it were Pop Life I’d have already ordered. I have Keren and Sara signed items so a Siobhan would be nice….
