AI content on moopy - do we need or want to adopt a community policy/approach? (1 Viewer)

A totally AI-fied Moopy does sound intriguing though. Imagine an AI bot trained solely from Moopy content.

I mean if it actually bothers you you probably would want there to be a policy. I don't see a gap there. but also, the poll is just a jump off point for the discussion. it's not really as deep as me having an agenda - my agenda is to get the discussion going and it was/is.

unless by agenda you mean an opinion on the matter in which case yes obviously I do.

And it’s not an attack on Jark starting the conversation, I just think it’s an over reach to police content. Of course if the bots start changing our posts and deleting our accounts, then maybe we need a rethink …

final thought on this for now - there is clear appetite (50% currently) for something to be done, and some suggestions have been made in this thread about what that could look like. so what are the next steps? are there next steps?

I'm not convinced that spamming the topic in this manner...

I can't help but notice it's now 38.5%

"Look at this funny thing I made on AI" is fast becoming the new "look at this funny thing on YouTube" to me in real life, but I don't think Moopy needs any more rules and policies, we broadly know better anyway. The HR-ification of the internet is almost as bad as the AI rubbish. Also I really don't want the forum to be moderated more like Popjustice or whatever they're calling themselves these days

About AI in general I have mixed thoughts, and despite appearing to be the greatest contributor to the Enya AI thread (it's not just me though) I can easily stop sharing and generating as often (and probably will by late September). On the Enya side of things, honestly the worst is on YouTube. It's hard to get genuine content to be seen when some awful AI generated songs presented as official music videos get thousands of views and people listen to and praise them (knowingly or not).

Then again the over-policing of it can get annoying, not sure how the Xenforo stuff works but simply tagging posts or banning them should do? And something like the Captcha things to prevent bot accounts.

Not sure which to vote, but for a policy, things do need to be more concrete than just internet ethics-based.

I moderate on Reddit, and whilst I had been quite lenient for a while, I am growing tired of it, especially stuff pretending to look official.
(The Enya subreddit does get AI stuff from time to time, not just from me, even someone asking if some AI labelled video was real )

On Moopy, I do support there being some easy-to-follow rules, and frequent reviewing of it from mods/admin when things don't seem to be working.

Generative AI (yes I know I use it for made-up pictures, videos, etc.) is the type which reportedly impacts on the environment and all that. Assistive AI technology (for translation, spell checking, editing backgrounds out, separating music stems without adding new music over it) is fine. Though people replying with AI is a little off.
