Westlife are back again

I assumed they would get one to go with the tour, if nothing else. Or perhaps to try and flog a few more copies of the album around Mother's Day.

Is the album DEAD now?

They wouldn't gain much from another single no, the album dropped like a stone once the lazy Christmas purchases for mothers/hated female relatives dried up.

Have they had enough hits to justify another GH since the last? I wouldn't be surprised if that is what in store for us this Christmas.

That would make sense I guess, that would probably do better numbers than another studio album, but they've only had 11 singles since the last one, so they'd have to add a few new tracks or some old hits to do that.

I have no idea why I am thinking about this at all, I'd rather they just buggered off.

New single written by the dreaded ED

I don't hate it actually :su2: and it's nice to hear Mark again

I see Mark isn’t participating on the tour at all. Is it known what’s wrong?

He had sepsis and other ongoing complications about four years ago that apparently are still impacting

They started their big anniversary 13-date residency in Dublin last night without a solitary mention of Mark

There’s bad blood there for sure

How do they sing without Mark doing the high part, the most singing part?

They’ve been performing as a three-piece for a while now and even played a handful of shows here. According to friends who saw them, all three can actually sing. Who knew? It’s like a reverse Pussycat Dolls.

Kian can't sing for shit. Nicky can just about hold a tune in a 4.5/10 kind of way.

And they both mime all the time.

I have to say, as I hit 40, I have embraced all kinds of songs from my youth, from Limp Bizkit's Rollin' to Westlife's Flying Without Wings, which strangely became one of my preferred songs to play in the car over the summer, after decades of paying it dust.

To be honest I imagine most of their songs are about 50% better without Mark's horrific warbling all over them.

As long as they just hand his bits straight to Shane, obviously.

I'm amazed anyone on this great site knows niche facts about Westlife like their names, songs or voices.

Flying Without Wings is the one that still repels me the most.

The other early hits before they became a covers band I can now enjoy as essentially an Irish take on Swedish Schlager. My Love, Fool Again, If I Let You Go etc.

If I Let You Go was almost my favourite, and I was convinced it was Swedish-originating (or at least Swedish-aping).

may I add: SHANE'S HAIRY CHEST
