#13 in the UK charts!
I think to a degree yes. The week of promo and week before was good but maybe the rollout was too late and obviously nothing stuck. A bit unlike Endless Summer Vacation where they waited what felt like ages to release an album on the back of “Flowers” and it underperformed relative to how huge that song was.I can't work out the situation with Miley. Does she have a devoted fanbase? The bulk of her first week sales in the US were physicals.
There’s a devoted fanbase but nobody else is there to help after the fact. I think the general public doesn’t really care unless she’s got a big song like Flowers, but even then they only buy the single and not the album.I can't work out the situation with Miley. This is the steepest drop from #1 since Bon Jovi's This House Is Not for Sale in 2018, which dropped to #169.
In their defense, it was part of a bundle that included the album and concert tickets redemption offer; I'm surprised Taylor hasn'ttried that gimmick before! Perhaps she'd be gutted to have her album drop 150+ places? This makes no sense to me. Miley is a bonafide superstar. I know she ditches her work soon after she releases it but if anyone had mass appeal I'd expect it to be her. There’s a devoted fanbase but nobody else is there to help after the fact. Miley also does shit promo for this stuff so the non-fans probably don’t see much of what she does do.
