Looks like someone or many someone's just tried to car bomb an RAF base.

This is why I'm stocking up on sweetcorn.

Could it be Iran, or Russia, or [insert proscribed group here], or the wrong'uns in balaclavas, or Enya, or a psyop to give Wes Streeting something to do? SPECULATE WILDLY!

The obvious answer is Enya, on behalf of Iran.

That said Russia are masters of unsubtle deception.

I doubt Tommy and the lads have the innovation needed to bring explosives to an RAF base. Although they'd probably do it, for reasons I genuinely can't understand.

Wargames was meant to be a warning not inspiration.

The guys arrested have been released on bail. Either this wasn't what they thought it was or it's some kind of tactic to bait the suspected people behind it.

Although the oil barrels suggest they were probably nicking fuel. Although fuck knows how or why they had three vans.

KicK oUT tHe iMMagrENTs!

KicK oUT tHe iMMagrENTs who r brANEwoshing r BOYS!

Lol I still love how the British pronounce "our".

Kiwis and Australians do something very similar with words like "nice". It sounds like "nahs".

Which our are you talking about?

There’s probably about 17 different pronunciations of that word in Greater Manchester alone :D

I think I probably pronounce 'our' three different ways, depending on who I'm speaking to.

I'm speculating wildly, but if this IS something, saying they're on bail is absolutely a trap to engage contact.

This is almost certainly derv rustling and nothing else, what a fucking scenario to find yourself in on a Sunday morning!

So why an obscure village in the Cotswolds when they're all from London?

Looking at them they've never been further than London or Dubai. My experience of Londoners is they don't understand fields.

Farms often have massive tanks of diesel on site to run tractors and machinery. You can't just pop down the 24 hour shell to fill one of these obese combine dogies up.

I guess there is an obscure chance russian/iranian agitators gave them a tipoff that they knew would cause a curfuffle but it seems a roundabout way of causing a scene to me.

Anyway the whole thing is very British and I'm howling at the extreme reaches people are making on social that this is in fact a covered up plot because BOAT PEOPLE

If it is an attempt at state sponsored terrorism, I assumed it would have been Russia. It's absolutely their style.

That said the ever overly cautious BBC seem to think Iran have threatened American military targets abroad.

Of course this absolutely isn't terrorism is it? Who bails terrorists?

The school I work at is 20 minutes away from Fairford, today has been quite interesting in trying to tamper the hysteria :D

Yeah i think there is a threat to that base knocking around hence all the concrete barriers and random plant equipment at the gates

These daft cunts aint it though

Gas oil AKA red diesel is for running agricultural machinery, it's sold at 5% VAT rate and has red dye in it so DVLA/EA can easily identify if it's been used in cars because it stains inside the petrol tank. You don't go to a petrol station for it, it's delivered to the farm by tanker and stored underground like petrol stations would store it. If each van had a 1000 litre IBC (big square container for holding liquids) and siphoning equipment inside they could nick 3000 litres of diesel to sell on, petrol station prices are nearly £2 a litre for diesel so even if they sell it on for £1.25 a litre they make £3750.

diesel engine road vehicle (apparently, I googled it after i posted it)
Worked in a petrol station when I was 18, had to write receipts by hand so always called it DERV on the receipt. I would also hand out "artificially inflated" receipts to regular customers for derv and petrol in exchange for their Green Shield stamps.

They've now arrested a dual British-Iranian national.

The whole narrative is just so inconsistent, which kinda backs up my theory the bail was a trap.

Growing up in the 1970s my next door neighbour Seyed was Iranian and his air stewardess wife Irish. They were lovely, and once fed me bacon and eggs when I got accidentally locked out during very snowy weather and both my parents were working. I've probably benefited from learning at a young age that there are countries and there are religions but there are also just people.
