Madonna - Confessions II OUT NOW (4 Viewers)

WHAT IS NEXT for Confessions 2? I would like

One more Afterhours Mix before the end of the year with a noted superstar.
One more single treatment/performance/push of another track - Maybe One Step Away or Fragile going into the COSY WINTER
Next year: Shows of somesort - ie Hyde Park shows, a few American big shows and then a RIO SHOW to usurp Gaga's numbers. Big audiences, fewer shows is the way forward for Madge/this albam, it seems.

Still easily my favourite album of the year. Never, ever did I think I'd be saying that about a new Madonna album again. It feels wonderful!

An airtight Madonna anal bum party album in 2026? Only the loons knew this day would come and even then only the sort who think Birthday Song is overdue getting its hydrangeas/flowers. Madonna at her most creatively limitless since Music was stun-gorgeing us with Impressive Instant and Paradise (Not for Me) as material none of her peers were getting even remotely close to matching. My peak here is the orgasmic trance throttle of Everything and I've been fucking with it since day 1.

Back on her pedestal - all the elements save the voice are fully back intact and frankly it's an astonishing ace she's played here where her collaborators truly have the kind of vision, expectation and appreciation for her as a creamy smooth pop icon goddess (very much what I feel was lacking on Hard Candy and the next 2 in patches, baby).

Up there with Erotica, Ray Of Light, American Life, Music and Like A Prayer. The fact she managed yet another artistic pinnacle almost 45 years into her recording career is wild. Bowie sort of did that with Blackstar, cannot think of anyone else.

I'm still listening to it several times a week, it's just astonishing how good it is.
Even some of the ones I wasn't too keen at first are now 10s for me (Everything, Fragile, My Sins are My Saviour).

The run from Bizarre to Fragile is such a triumph.
One Step Away is still my favourite, her vocals are so delicate and beautiful here.

Still don't care for The Test though.

Music doesn't get enough praise. Listening to it in 2026 I'm :agog: a mainstream artist like her in her second imperial phase released something so fucking weird at the time. Some of those synths go way too hard for the unwashed. 11-year-old me certainly couldn't appreciate it and was spooked out by all the scary vocoder. The album genuinely still sounds 'Amazing' and I consider it my fave from her now.
 
Music was her bravest album in a lot of ways (I know, Erotica is like fuck my drag, right?). It was completely bonkers. Music, Impressive Instant, Nobody's Perfect, Don't Tell Me, Paradise (Not For Me) are literally unlike any at the time, or since.

Was it that bad? It's her only tour I've neither seen in person nor on screen (though I somehow own a ridiculously priced, yet to be opened vinyl of the live recording).

I went twice.
The best thing I can say about it was that it made Celebration Tour even more necessary than it already was…
 
I wouldn’t say bad but certainly not a “Madonna” show. The theater in Chicago was boiling hot and we were seated and of course had to wait a couple of hours for her to start.

It had some interesting bits but overall it wasn’t a great concert experience for me.
