Disappointed at the absence on the shortlist of an XL Bully, barely under the control of a bored yob, menacing a terrified pensioner in a shopping precinct.

Bank of England reveals the four animals to feature on banknotes

The decision comes after nearly half a million people voted on a shortlist of 18 creatures.

And the winners are:
  • Atlantic puffin;
  • Barn owl;
  • Buff-tailed bumblebee; and
  • European hedgehog.
The puffin didn’t even win its category - it’s just there to placate coastal freaks. The fox was robbed by the anti-mammal establishment.

Puffins already have a coin. As do those garish stinging insects. GREEDY
 
I mean they picked the 3 clear winners and then I guess the 4th was up to him - it's not that outrageous. If you don't like democratic votes go and join Reform or something.

Delighted for the buff-tailed bumblebees though. Some good news in what has been a tough time for them
