A neighbour must be dog-sitting, and the dog was yapping at 5am.

Then I had to jump out of bed at 9am for a CRISIS business call.

Worst sunday ever.

2nd cold this term & I've got to somehow force myself to write 3 lesson plans today despite feeling like ass :wired: Children really are miniature germ factories

"Ah, Sunday morning, I'll pop something nice and quiet on the ol' CD player"

*two lawnmowers start and a bin lorry show up*

Fine. Fuck you all. Bowie it is.

With my arsehole neighbour, I never plan for quiet periods. We normally have to have something on to drown his boring boring boring noise - endless cackling, dull phone calls, shouting, scraping, banging. I genuinely don't understand how this drab single man in his 60s has so much going on.

At least he's stopped using his garden as a space for community events. Utterly baffling.

MORNING LOVES

Had a lovely swim in the sea, a stroll with a coffee and jumped on a pile of leaves and chippings. Entirely wholesome way to get rid of a very mild hangover.

…then realised the bit of beef I bought for people to come over for lunch at 1 was a slow cook brisket joint that takes four hours and so all my zen disappeared as I had to leg it to Waitrose and spend THIRTY FUCKING FIVE POUNDS on a suitable replacement 🤦🏻‍♂️😭

Thirty five quid??? For that, I'd want them to come 'round and cook it for me.

You can easily pay considerably more than that. I paid over £45 for a joint from M&S after mum was discharged from hospital for a family roast. And I remember I could have paid £60 had I wanted to.

I’m roasting a chicken. Husband usually does this, doesn’t want to. I’m a feeeely kind of cook but I need some direction so I’m occasionally consulting him whilst he drinks the rest of the white wine that didn’t go in the stock and watches old Will & Grace repeats.

God I love a roast chicken on a Sunday. I've just bought some venison burgers for later.

I had a dreadfully dry chicken last Sunday at a roast in South London. the roast pots were also terrible. I should've been a Karen about it and SENT IT BACK. chicken is not difficult!

I’ll let you know if I managed to make mine difficult - to be fair i cook a lot of chicken and i’m pretty decent at getting meat to a really good place, but whole roasts are his thing. I’d have gone out for one but doing it at home is wildly cheaper and we did just order quite a splashy xmas related treat so something has to give given i’m shortly a man of leisure.

I've got a sudden urge to make a fish stew for dinner, but am completely lacking in any desire to go out shopping for the ingredients.
