I've cycled through all of them (except TikTok) and currently on Twitter.

Facebook: Too full of scammers and conspiracy theory nuts to be usable. Also, I still find it too old. It's a Boomer platform. The massive private groups have all been abandoned. Great memories though.
Instagram: Probably the most pleasant platform in my experience, but that obviously depends on your algorithm. Sharing relatable reels with friends remains the best thing to ever come from social media.
Twitter (I'm not calling it X): Just got into this and it's been quite good. It's a nice visual/text middleground, which makes it surprisingly decent for conversation. Grok is stupid af though. Actually all of its additional features are pointless. Also still full of bots.
LinkedIn: Just a bubbling cauldron of corporate propaganda. Their influencers are easily the WORST kind because there's a veneer of reputation and 'professionalism' that can give dangerous people authority. My least favorite.
Snapchat: Never understood the appeal. It's always felt like a gimmick, which is why I'm surprised it's still around. I was probably using it wrong.
Reddit: Love it. It's perfectly organized without being over-moderated. I use it for gaming and Drag Race stuff and the communities are generally the most well-behaved of all social media.

I still actively enjoy Instagram. I want to just have it that it’s what I want to see, though- which is basically scrolling through people finding stuff in charity shops :D

I hate Facebook and want to delete it. My local pub finally moving to Instagram this week is probably the death knell at last, though it’s going to annoy me considering how much shit I’ve used Facebook to log in with.

Twitter absolutely not anymore. Makes me sad considering the athletics community I found on there has genuinely changed my life, but it’s just filth. I went on briefly for the first time in ages after Amy Hunt won the 200m at Europeans and the first thing the algorithm decided I saw was a thread with people praising her as she was white, over Dina Asher-Smith, who wasn’t “proper” British, complete with n-words and animal comparisons. That was me done.

Never touched Tik Tok.

I use TikTok a lot, but not as a social media. I don’t post anything, I just have a few convos with friends where we share funny stuff.
Twitter, I sometimes read but never post on and it’s pure Nazi shit nowadays.
I haven’t been on Facebook for over a decade.
So, I voted Instagram.

I deleted Facebook about 3 years ago and I do not miss it one bit.

I would say I use TikTok the most but solely to scroll, not post. Instagram is the only one I 'post' on and even then, it's a story every few months.

I binned Facebook a number of years back because despite my best efforts all it wanted to serve me was a Reform stylee narrative and attempting to tell it not to got me exactly nowhere.

I've never really been one for doing lots of social media, I do much prefer forum based stuff like this one or Reddit.

Insta is ok if you just look at the stuff along the top from people you actually follow.

Never used Tikkity Tokkity knowingly.

Twitter as was was for one shining moment extrodinary for breaking news and for really challenging traditional news methods but quickly became unusable and full of radicalisation so that's also been in the bin for a while now.

Given the option, I would, on balance, switch them all off if we could swing away from the current global narrative. And I say that as someone who has pretty much made their entire career out of online.

I still have Facebook but only use it when I need to find out about something happening locally or when I need recommendations for tradespeople.

I like Instagram because it seems less toxic than the other platforms and a lot of my friends actively use it. I also follow some really funny and interesting content creators/podcast hosts there. It's also handy for travel stuff, even if you have to filter out the most annoyingly influencer types.

I tried Tiktok for about two days and deleted it.

I have no time for TikTok. They say A.I. is brain rot, well TikTok is worse - it's just someone else decides your brain rot.

Facebook is the pits. I keep it on, just to keep a check people I once knew, see who's died. I only use it sparingly. Instagram has become the more tolerable space in the year of our Lord 2026. There's some quite nice stuff normally involving comedians, drag queens, politics and hot men.

X I maintain, because my algorithm is pretty nice for low culture and news. Investigate any deeper and it's a cesspit.

Reddit is weird. Obviously super useful, but it's not an instinctive go-to.

LinkedIn lol. Never really used it. Keep it just incase I need to stalk someone.

I mostly keep Facebook for family and work. I'll be hiring a social media minion again soon and then it'll be off my phone and I'll pop on the computer to look at it.

Me out here single-handedly keeping Facebook going then!

Instagram irritates me because it's all pictures. Impossible to find any sort of INFORMATION quickly when there's no words and you have to blindly click through a bunch of photos :zombie:

Twitter is just vile right-wing shit now as has been noted

And TikTok can absolutely fuck right off.

I do very much enjoy Reddit but I suppose I think of it more as a forum (or massive load of forums) like Moopy than social media 🤔

I still enjoy your booze based adventures in experience bars that won't last more than 18 months.

I'll be very honest- I judge the FUCK out of ANYONE who still posts regularly on Facebook.

MORE THAN USUAL :disco:

I'm surprised so many people still use X. I deleted it after Trump's re-election and felt such peace. Don't miss it in the slightest.

I use Instagram and Facebook for my pub quiz work and occasionally to scroll for updates from friends and celebrities (though Facebook is becoming increasingly unusable), never post anything personal any more though.

I substituted X with Bluesky and my life has exponentially improved. No Facebook for years, and only Instagram for our brand and general work with schools etc. Linked In I don’t mind, it’s just not very interesting but it’s also not toxic or unhinged like the rest.
I try not to spend more than 15 mins on Social in general but do love going through Moopy

honey it's just so good for porn! I only use it to discover hot Latinos before switching to justthegays for full length videos

They’re all designed to make you miserable and angry so…

I get 5 minutes on Instagram a day to quickly see what friends are up to. The time limit really stops me just going on an endless doom loop. I can browse it on a computer though if I want to check something out.

I've dramatically cut down on Instagram. I was posting a carousel of pics every couple of weeks or more until a year or two ago. now nothing on feed, very few stories, and I'm quite good at not browsing much either. but I will lose touch with a lot of people if I get rid of it and it's good for things like eating out inspo and clips of Dakota Johnson being dry af or Madame expressing her royal hauteur on a red carpet.

Why do you get 5 minutes a day?

I quite like the idea of that funny app that makes you do press-ups for minutes doomscrolling! :D

Facebook started serving me videos of staged but ordinary chinese life and i cant stop watching them and I dont know why.

I should like instagram more but between the begging for engagement posts and carousels of paragraphs of text it really is going to shit.

I set an app limit in the Screen Time settings but set a pin I can’t remember so I can’t just press the “ignore for today” button.

5 minutes seems about right for a general check-in on friends. And tbh being on 5 minutes has made me realise I wouldn’t even miss it if I did delete it but I like it for foodie reviews around Glasgow.

I like this idea a lot.

I use Facebook for keeping up with family but I rarely do a lot of posting on it these days.

I use Twitter, Instagram and Facebook to view but haven't posted anything on any of them for years. Moopy is the only place online where I really engage.

WhatsApp helped replace the need for keeping up with family on Facebook. Facebook now feels like something from a different era, like cassette tapes and landlines. It amazes me that people still find use in it.
