1991 is such a crazy year. It is filled with inane novelty crap and cheap ballids, and lots of random number ones that would suggest a terrible year for music.

But underneath you had the beginnings of grunge, modern britpop, west coast rap, neo soul, acid jazz, as well as Europe taking a hold of house music from the US and having a LOT of fun with it.

It was SUCH an exciting time for music - you would just never know it from the number ones!
