Belvedere Kane - Getting Away With Murder and other bops

Came across this guy’s slightly pass agg videos on TikTok... the tone of the videos was slightly odd but it certainly caught my attention and the bops are bopping.



Hadn’t heard of him before but seems the story is that he was signed and then mercilessly dropped after one single at some point in the mid-nineties.

Now he’s put out the unreleased lost album and it’s CHOCK with gay nonsense that I thought Moopy might appreciate.

Very much giving Dead or Alive or Erasure’s more THEATRICAL numbers. Somewhat unsurprising that the label weren’t keen on material that seems more in step with 1986 than 1996…

Does anyone remember his single from back in the day?

This was the single. Definitely very Erasure, so felt a bit out of step in 1996. I remember him being in Smash Hits at the time but the song didn't even chart.

I was remarking earlier to @Tetris-Rock that HUMAN LEAGUE were basically the only act getting away with that sound in 95-96.

I saw some of the pass ag videos on Instagram and they were a bit off-putting. He came across quite well on the DoA podcast he did.
