We haven't had one of these polls in a while and I do like them!

Listening to her Greatest hits now it's bloody good really! "Foolish Beat" is sublime, normally "Only In My Dreams" is my fave but this has to pip it at the moment.

I bought Electric Youth out of a Charity shop awhile back...she wasn't very good, I don't think...neither was Tiffany but at least she had about 3/4 good songs

I'm torn between Electric Youth and We Could Be Together. Leaving the latter off the GH was a crime. The ballads have their over-earnest charm too.

Staying Together is just awful though.

How the FUCK is "Foolish Beat" sublime ?

It does annoy me when people like something and use TOTALLY inappropriate words cause they read it in a review once...

Sublime can be used to basically mean majestic, can't it?

Ridiculously effusive praise for a Debbie Gibson single, yes, but other than that I don't think it's totally the wrong word.....

I'd have to go for "We could be together", I bought the "Electric Youth" album for that. "Lost in your eyes" is great too.

Actually I think I might try get the album on secondspin :D

Characterized by nobility; majestic.

Of high spiritual, moral, or intellectual worth.
Not to be excelled; supreme.
Inspiring awe; impressive.
Archaic. Raised aloft; set high.
Obsolete. Of lofty appearance or bearing; haughty: “not terrible,/That I should fear... /But solemn and sublime” (John Milton)

The "majestic" means...king rather than "good" and she is hardly "inspiring awe" or "supreme" or the suchlike...

ANYWAYS...

I LOVE a bit of DEBBIE and im JUST IN THE MOOD

Does anyone have anything post the first two albums ? I haven't bothered and frankly, SHOULD I?

I only have the greatest hits but i must say i'm very fond of the Masters At Work mix of 'Losin' Myself'.

I'm not sure you should really. The PWL remix of Anything Is Possible is pretty good. I have a few odds and ends, but after she left Atlantic she seems to have gone a bit shit. A couple of comedy dance remixes I have of Your Secret and What You Want aren't TOO BAD.

'Only In My Dreams'.

I bought the 'Out Of The Blue' album on a primary school trip to the glamourous Trouville sur Mer.

Debbie has a random new single out ‘Girls Night Out’. Auto tune has been switched on to the max. The verses are pretty good but the chorus just doesn’t get to where you think it’s about to go.

There's something unedifying about the subject matter when you're about fifty yourself.

Having a moment to "Losin' Myself" . Can't believe this came from the same album as "Shock Your Mama" :bruised:

I just re-discovered this monstrosity. Looking possessed 95% of the video
