Dublin born and raised, Fricker was the first Irish woman to win an acting Oscar in 1990 for her role in Jim Sheridan’s My Left Foot
I think I saw her once in the wild. Not like bloody Charlie. He was everywhere when they filmed Casualty here.Awww, Brenda. Used to see her in the off licence on Whiteladies Road in Bristol buying a bottle of wine when I was a student and had friends who lived above it. Always had a smile.

Paul McGann (well I think it was Paul - definitely not the tall McGann who was in The Upper Hand) is the one who I used to see around a lot (and yes, usually in Clifton). And then I hadn't seen him for years until I saw him with an armful of stuff in Uniqlo last week. I think he favours the same pants as me.

How sad.
