Let's open strong!

I've been having a bit of a Carola revival of late. Song-wise Främling is obviously her top tier classic, and on the right day I might even prefer listening to Evighet, but the performance really does show her at the peak of her wild-eyed, Jesus-fuelled powers.

The VOX, the CHOREO, the CLIMAX, the fact that the sound in the hall apparently failed halfway through and she doesn't miss a MICROBEAT



Definitely one for the 'won by sheer force of will alone' hall of fame.

It's just a bit of fun. Personally I just think of it as a score out of ten. I don't put too much thought into how I'd rank it against the rest of that year's entries. (for what it's worth I could switch between this, Le Dernier qui a parlé... and BRAZIL for my 12 points from 1991 on any given day depending on my mood )

What a childhood trauma it was for me that this won over the seductive Amina and her mesmerising oriental vocalisations.
