Probably best to keep your social distance from him forever :side-eye:

My next door neighbour is a really nice guy but he is currently on his balcony the phone talking about 5G Coronavirus theories being feasible, how he reckons Russia have a hand in all of it and that murders and suicides due to lockdown are at a higher rate than Covid deaths but no one is reporting it.

You could have so much fun with that! Start posting little bits of paper through his letterbox with things like "we're watching you" and "not all suicides are really suicide, spasiba" written on them. Wind him up and watch him go :D

One of my neighbours is CONSTANTLY going out in the car somewhere. It's at least 3/4 times in a day

See, I don't know how I feel. Opposite me, the common has been pretty empty throughout this and I commented only yesterday on how it would be so conspicuous that people were probably too scared to do anything out there. About 4pm, a group of about 12 people appeared and started playing football- mixed ages, some kids, some adults, clearly not from the same house. Within an hour, there were 2 more groups had appeared- a group of students from the halls next door and then a group of about six teenage girls just sat on the grass. I reported it to the police via their online reporting thing. The minute one person starts something, however innocuous it may seem, others then think it's carte blanche for themselves and suddenly we have problems.

I understand the argument that you don't know what's going on behind the scenes and I don't think I'd start whining on Facebook, but for this to work, people need to stick to the rules.

Absolutely as above. There are people out there losing their lives trying to save/ serve others, it's really upsetting me. We owe it to them to stay in.

Fine, but people are dying because the government allowed people to go to Cheltenham, because they didnt shut down bars, clubs and pubs early enough, because they have failed to equip nurses with PPE and so on. Not because a few people are leaving the house for a bit longer than they should.

They are dying for both reasons. You can't slag the government off on one hand and then meet up with your friends on the common for a game of football on the other.

I've got relatives and friends who are doctors working out there on the frontline. Reading their posts about how scared they are going to work everyday, it's heartbreaking. They are mostly my age with young children too, the thought of leaving those kids without a mum or dad. Yet they go out there everyday to help fight this. All we have to do is stay home, they'd love to be able to do that.

So we should just stop and rebel because the government fucked up at first? How does that work?!

We should be holding the government to account far more than a couple of people sunbathing on a park.

Lord knows I’m not backing the government, but it’s not about a “few people leaving the house”, it’s about every single person that does it leads to another 10 who think they can and suddenly you have crowds in parks sunbathing, people not related meeting up for “socially distanced picnics” but “oh let me borrow that knife a second”, “anyone got a light?”, “oh I’m pissed, let’s dance” and the whole thing gets fucked. I fail to see what people aren’t getting.

The other issue is that people are seeing the 2 metre rule as a fail safe prevention against getting coronavirus. It isn’t. It’s just helping. That’s what everyone needs to realise.

That isn’t in question. Well, here, anyway. But my point remains- what does us ignoring the current advice have anything to do with that?

My point wasn't about whether its right or wrong to go to the park etc, it was more about the general sentiment of the public. Social media seems to be full of snide little messages about people having family around, sunbathing, going out in the car twice a day etc. but hardly anyone questioning why we're seeing 1000 deaths a day or the fact nurses are wearing fucking BIN BAGS.

And that is getting me down a bit if I am honest.

Getting fucking sick of people grassing other people on facebook
It's the constantly posting it on community groups that gets me. Either the people concerned aren't in the group, or if they are, they clearly DON'T CARE.

At least have the balls to take it up with them (from a safe distance :eyes:), report them anonymously to that number, or SHUT THE FUCK UP ABOUT IT. Whining on Facebook just winds everyone up, the same as moaning a few weeks ago about panic buying increased everyone else's anxiety, making them more likely to panic buy in turn.

This was essentially my point, but I was a lot of rum deep.

I've actually muted all the local groups because of all this, apart from the one for the little place I grew up, because its full of people easy to wind up.
