There's definitely one song in particular it sounds like, is it Run Away With Me? My immediate thought on listening to this today was that this is a better Carly Rae Jepsen single than the Carly Rae Jepsen single released this week (though I don't hate that).
 
listened to this today and wondered if it's not more sigrid than crj. just seen there's a video too.

so I've liked both of these singles (I mean, I made the thread) but the first EP is out now (album is split into two, the second in September) and Paris blows Come Over and Somebody away honestly

Tension is excellent also, she has a great pop voice.

The EP/half album is very good indeed, though the release strategy seems a bit of a needless faff.

I agree that Paris is particularly wonderful, and definitely better than Coulda Woulda Shoulda which was the one that landed on the playlists.

It is a very good album. The release strategy still doesn't make that much sense to me, but It's Only A Heartbreak has grown on me and the new stuff keeps up too. Bye Bye Baby and Moment are great, and while the more stately Scandi balladry isn't her most obvious strength, Coast To Coast is nicely done.
 
sorry but why are more of you not losing it over Dagny? :angry: her sophisticated Scandi pop sensibility is SO moopy. I'm really obsessed with Moment right now and I think Side B IS as strong as side A after all. that dark latin guitar on Please Look At Me is so SULTRY

It is good! The best stuff was already out so the new ones need a little longer to click
 
TISCH REVIEW: Very good. A very welcome addition to the world of young pop girls. Much more enjoyable than the ones who have a "coolness" about them (Mabel, Shura)

Washed over me A BIT towards the end. But generally great. 9/10 would listen again.
 
I won't tolerate Shura slander BUT I'm really pleased you listened and enjoyed, and happy to know that sometimes my aggressive tagging sprees actually work :eyes:
 
I had a friend who BUGGED me to listen to Shura and even suggested I buy a ticket to her gig (this was pre-Covid obvs) and when I finally listened it was a big SHRUG which is NEARLY AN ANAGRAM OF HER NAME.

I'm always happy for a tag @Jark And I trust your opinion on new pop (most of the time).
