I like the build up with the kids, although Kylie is beginning to not believe it in all anymore. I find the actual day quite lonely though as we don't really have anyone to celebrate with. We usually pop to my mums for food but that's all.

I'm finally feeling it! I've come out of a long period of zapped energy. I made the house look beautiful today, watched the charts and ate some mince pies. Excellent timing.

We're now approaching the SHIT period of Christmas when one realises one has to deal with WRAPPING

I was out last night and out tomorrow so I’ve allowed myself a night in, even if it is the Friday before Christmas - so I’ve gone full hog by getting the chocolate biscuits and the bourbon out Watching an episode of stranger things with dinner and then I’ll put a Christmas movie on and wrap some presents

I've just realised that if I take my family presents up my mum's on Sunday, I can probably persuade my niece to wrap them, and then they will all be up there for Boxing Day. That's got to be worth chucking her twenty quid for.

I do like it, but I am currently about to embark on number four of five consecutive Christmas dinners/parties and feel like my social battery is drained before Christmas itself has even happened.

I do like that I've now been able to experience Christmas both in the summer and in the winter. The winter is obviously superior, but still.

A winter Christmas feels more right but there absolutely is something about New Years being in summer that cannot be replaced. It’s fucking depressing here post December 26, which wasn’t the case growing up and is very hard to adapt to I would say, moreso than Christmas being a different season.

But yeah Christmas is fine and all, no major issues either way but it’s a nice time of year overall.
